Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

All of the comments you all have shared are what I have heard as well from my son. It must be very difficult for our guys to try and keep up their spirits when the IT is so tough (when I asked what it was like he just said, "you don't want to know". I just pray that this doesn't lead to a delay in PIR. I have read about being ASMOed....I guess that is where you are sent back to some basic training because of medical or discipline issues....I don't know if that is as a division or just individuals. Well, we just keep praying, I know our men are and God will pull them through this. Guess should they ever need this resiliency in real life situations, they will have the tools needed to pull through. Let's just hope the next set of letters are more positive and unified!

I have gotten only one letter from my son. He mostly writes to his wife of two months. She was his college sweetheart, and they were married just before he left for boot camp. This is okay with me because she is a wonderful young woman, and I love her so much. Besides, she shares his letters with me. At first the letters and calls were so down. We both were afraid that he would give up, but recently despite the fact that boot camp is not his most favorite place in the world; the letters are more up beat. He mostly talks about going to A school, and the excitement of learning something new. And, of course having my daughter-in-law join him eventually.
He too talks about the division getting into trouble. Hopefully, they are pulling together now.
I try to write to my son at least every other day if not every day. I remind him that he can do all things through our Lord who strengthens him...even jump over tall buildings if the Navy says so (smile.) And, so can your SR.
I am praying for the guys in our division who are getting the division into trouble. I just know that they are young and immature with lessons to learn. Surely, they will learn quickly.
Hang in there. February 17 is on the horizon.

la/wa7 you have a wonderful idea...prayer for the young men who are struggling to let go and let God. Maybe we should start a prayer chain for our boys...where we pray for our loved ones to remain strong and be the leaders the struggling brothers need them to be, and a second prayer for those struggling to become part of their new family, that they might see the strength in the division and open themselves up to becoming part of the team. I am sure if those of us here, our families and friends join in prayer with our SRs who are already on their knees, God will answer our call.

You can count me in and I will also ask my church family to pray. The power of Prayer is so great. I love the Bible verse 1 Thessalonians 5:16. Also, I love what you said IowaMOM, about being in great shape to compete in the Captains Cup. I can only imagine the frustrations ALL the SR must be experiencing, especially the struggling SR's.I know I would never survive bootcamp. My SR said the division was having trouble listening, however, that letter was dated 1/1/12, so hopefully things have gotten better. He has commented about how bad the food is. He might just being saying that for my benefit :)

Ladies thank you for joining me in prayer for ALL of our division SRs. God put them together for a reason. I also start my son's letters with Jeremiah 29:11. Captain's Cup, here they come.

Wow, what great news for you and your SR and much thanks for sharing! That is really good news to hear and to have. I am thrilled that it all seems to be going on schedule and that all are moving ahead. As tough as it is, I can only imagine the new men we will meet on the 17th. What a glorious day it will be in so many ways. I don't have to worry about the phone part, seems that it is forever in my sight and reach these days. You just never know when a call will come and I would hate to have missed it! Luckily, no one seems to mind!

Your welcome! =] The last call i recieved from my SR, i was at work and im always by my phone at work but, now that school had started and im a dance major, im never by my phone because i am in technique classes usually throughout the morning monday - friday. it scares me because i want to be able to be by my phone if he calls. I hope if he does call it's after 1:00pm because thats when im done my dance classes.... ugh. my life. =/ but i know my SR knows how busy i am during the day as far as dance classes are concerned but i know he will be sad if i dont answer. i just pray that he will call when im near my phone.
