For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Has anyone received a letter or phone call? I've been patiently waiting and still nothing. I 've read other divisions have received a call or several received letters.

I received letters on Thursday. My SR did say the.mail guy messed up and that they may get a call home on july 13... But I dudnt get a call :(.. Hopefully soon.

I am officially on cloud nine. Spoke to my son for 30 minutes. He sounds good. No complants. So good to hear his voice and in good spirits. They are doing so much and learning a lot. He said it will be 2-3 weeks before he can call again. He mailed some letters but haven't received them. Hopefully this will be the week. Hope all other families get their call also. He did tell me his bunk mate is Raymond, is his mom in this group?? Have a great weekend everyone. ;)

So glad you got your phone call and got to talk to him. My daughter warned me that she would be SIQ from dental so wouldn't be able to call. I'm glad the division is doing good. They are going to be great and it will be great to meet everyone at PIR :-)

I am glad you got to her from your son today. I got to hear from my husband, or should I say sort of? The phone was breaking up the whole time so I couldn't really hear him.
He did say something about a 15minute earned call home. I believe this is a division call home, not just him. If so he does not know when they will be able to use it. Of course the RDCs can always take it way from them.
I received letters last Thursday. The mail guy messed up so a lot of their letters went out all at once. Keep checking your mailbox :) and sending him letters.

I HAVE STARTED GETTING LETTERS FROM MY SON .HE IS ENJOYING IT.HE THOUGHT IT WAS GOING 2 BE ALOT MORE HARDER .I WROTE HIM AND TOLD HIM HE SHOULD BE GLAD.HE ALSO INFORMED US THAT HE IS THE RPOC OF HIS DIVISION.I AM SO PROUD OF HIM AND I CAN NOT WAIT TILL I GET 2 C HIM GRADUATE!!!

Your son is the RPOC? My daughter is the AROC. They have been working very closely together. My daughter said that your son is pretty 'chill'. I guess that's a good thing :-) Where are you from? Hopefully both of our kids will be able to keep their jobs and be at the front of the division at graduation. Where will your son be going to A school and what will his job be?

I finally got a letter yesterday, he sounds good but has a summer cold. He is moving up to an E-2, very proud of him. Got a letter he wrote this week but not any letters he wrote prior. What is a APOC or RPOC? Looking forward to meeting other parents but more importantly seeing mangy son.

RPOC is the Recruit Chief Petty Officer, AROC is the Assistant Recruit Chief Petty Officer. In an integrated division one always has to be male and the other female since they are the one's in charge in the barracks when the RDC's are not present. They are basically the leadership of the division, handle problems, try to get the division working together. Also, one of the main things they do is lead marching. The RPOC leads the commands 'left face, about face, etc', while the AROC leads the cadences... the sing songy chants like "I don't know but I've been told... " The stuff you see on tv. These jobs are stressful and I know my daughter said it is really tough to be in charge of 40 females who just want to yell at each other :-) I'm hoping they both can keep their jobs through boot camp as then they will be the one's leading the division as they march into the graduation hall and will be standing in front of them during the ceremony. But I know a lot of divisions have a high turn over in these jobs as the RDC's find just the right person for it. Or if they mess up too many times they can get fired. Praying my daughter can keep her job :-) Same for you Nicole M :-)
