I haven't been to the mailbox yet, still at work. I hope today is the day for a letter. I am glad to hear you ladies recieved yours today. Congrats!
Hell Week is their busiest week of all! During this week, they will be getting up early - around 3:30 or so to get ready for long days. They have tests, their second physical fitness test, a couple of inspections that require a lot of standing and waiting. I believe there is also some work at the firing range etc. After they finish this week, things should seem a bit easier - then the final hurdle is battlestation 21. THEN we get the I'm a SAILOR call!

Our division did compete for honor graduate last week. My son was nominated to compete and was very upset that he didn't win it. He said losing that really motivated him even more. RDC said it was an honor to be asked to compete for it. My son also son the RDC's are really great and he has learned a lot from them. He seems extremely grateful that they have excellent RDC's. My son did not say who had earned "honor graduate". My heart broke in his letter when he said he had wanted it to make us proud - like we aren't proud already! He was beating himself up a bit, but was using it as good motivation.
So when did they actually start hell week.
My letter stated that Week 4, Day 1 (Hell week) was to start on Wednesday Sept 15th - then I looked at the date again and realized it was TODAY! Let's pray for them as they go through this tough week, and I hear they all love the bragging rights after it's over.

If I was a guessing gal, I would say this may be a week when they really have to pull it together and work as a team along with leaning on each other to get through. Should make for a stronger division when it's all said and done - all apart of the process and much needed to pass battlestation 21!

Our recruits are going to do great, and realize just how amazing they are during these 7 days.
When other moms got letters from their sr, they said that they had to weed out the week, do they actually send them home being thats half way through.
We got a letter today. He has never been much of a writer so for us to receive a letter a week is HUGE. We were hoping for a couple of sentences so these letters are like gold to us. He says that they are now able to write on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. His disposition is much better. It sounds like they are definitely working better together now than when he wrote that last letter (he was EXTREMELY frustrated in that last letter). But in this one, he states that he was complimented by his Chief for something and says he is still grinning from ear to ear over that one.

He, who rarely asks anything of anybody, asks that motivation be sent to the division. By his estimation, by the time we receive this letter and respond to it, they will either be in or getting ready to go into Battle Stations and will need the additional motivation, support to make it through that last hurdle.
Glad you got some good communication! What a blessing. I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that they are working better together. From what I can tell - our division has the best Chief around! My son seems to like him a lot and really took a compliment from him to heart too.

Thanks for letting us know to send extra motivation and for the great info!
I didn't expect to have so much USEFUL information! lol. But it was so very comforting to know that they seem to be working together better. My son seems to have a great deal of respect for our Chief.

You are very welcome ... we are almost there!
Hey everyone! Haven't heard much info lately. Will battlestation 21 be right after hell week or just before PIR
Only 16 days left now I'm so nervous and anxious. This has been an emotional rollercoaster ride.
Our divisions battlestations should be the Monday before PIR. The date will be October 4th. The 900 divisions normally due theirs on the Monday before due to performing in the previous weeks PIR, and then needing to practice to perform in their own.

Don't forget to look at pics of this weeks PIR - Our recruits will be performing! Especially on the facebook site, where they post pics the same day. Also - I have made friends with some of the Moms in the other PIR groups and have asked they try to post some pics for us.

In 2 weeks, we will be packing and getting ready to go to Great Lakes!
I know I probably asked this before, sorry. My brain doesn't seem to be able to wrap around all these things. So overwhelmed! What do I need to look under on facebook???
