For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Good morning moms! (Maybe I should have said proud, but anxious moms.) I am so ready to hear something from my daughter. Has anyone received a call or a letter from their child yet? All I've had is the 'I'm here' call. I keep telling myself that no news is good news, but this is soooo hard. Everyone have a blessed day! Gloria

No news from daughter (also in 09/172) Was hoping from a call today since they didn't get to phone on Mother's Day last weekend, but no call. Guess I'll look forward to Thursdays mail. That's when I get the letters she writes throughout the week and on Sunday.

I got a letter from my son today that was written last Tuesday. He said that they were going to have drill inspection the next day and that if they passed, they would get their 5th flag! Go 172! He also said that they took their division photos and that the RDC's pulled pranks on them while they were getting the pictures taken. They hid food in his locker and messed up the bunks. Sounds like fun. *lol*

Just got a call from my daughter. She was calling to check on the names coming to PIR and we got to talk for about 30 minutes. She passed her PFA and dress inspections and got a sharpshooter ribbon for the weapons training. She sounded great and was really looking forward to Battlestations. Really a good call.

We got our division t-shirts on Friday. Not sure about depicting the RDCs as snarling dogs but maybe they meant it with love... :)

OK ship 09/Div 172: This may be too late, but I was reading some posts from earlier PIR dates and the moms coordinated clothes to wear to meet and greet and to PIR. Just wondering if that is something anyone wanted to do. Those particular groups were wearing navy mom t shirts or division t shirts to meet and greet and white dresses or shirts with red white and blue ribbons to PIR. I already bought blue division ribbon to wear to PIR from lala. I didn't think ahead to order div shirts. Do any of you have any ideas or even want to do this?
