My son has been in BC since the night of Feb. 25th flew out of New Orleans his wife got a call at 1:15am on th 26th at Great Lakes and safe 10 seconds, received the "box" on the 2nd of March nothing since hoping to hear something anything soon :( If anyone has a loved one that left out of New Orleans on 02/25/2015 and has any info please respond.

Your recruit is fine.If he were not fine, then his wife would be receiving a call indicating that there is a problem. Since no one has received a call, he is fine.
Others with recruits who arrived on the 24th and 25th are still waiting on The Form Letter. His wife should be receiving The Form Letter soon--10 days after arrival is average, but it can take longer for some (average means that some will get it before 10 days and some after). Most have The Form Letter by 2 weeks after arrival, so if she has not received The Form Letter on or before Wednesday's mail, then she can call the recruiter and get his address and double-check the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.
Thank you so much!
It took almost three weeks to hear from my son when he was in boot camp. He was in P-hold waiting for enough to form his division so his processing days took longer. There always is a reason why you don't hear from them but unfortunately you don't find out that reason until later. I was frantic at home but he was just there doing what he was supposed to do with nothing wrong. Lemonelephant explained perfectly that you shouldn't worry unless you get notification that you should. You will get tired of hearing it but no news IS good news.
Oh wow thanks for your response! I'm sure you understand where I'm at :( maybe this week or next hopefully!!!
I do understand and it's tough! I broke down and called his recruiter who assured me he was still there and gave me his PIR date and division because at this point it was 2 1/2 weeks. I joined his PIR group and worried more because people were getting phone calls and we got nothing. At three weeks I received the official letter, a letter from him and my first phone call. He had been on watch duty and then had his wisdom teeth out so he missed the division call and got a make up one. I'm just saying all of this to reassure you that there is always a reason, even if we don't like it or understand why at the time, that we don't hear from them. Information will be coming for you soon! Hang in there!
Thanks for the info and encouragement! I'm hoping to hear something soon I'm just over anxious I guess, its only been a couple weeks I just need to be patient.
Thanks for your post Bobbie! This made me feel better, as I have received the arrival call (March 5) and the box (March 10) but no 5 min phone call or letter... this helps to explain some of the potential reasons why... even if this isn't the case for my SR, it made me feel better to see some actual reasons why this could be. Thank you!
Absolutely! I'm glad I could give you a little insight because at the time, I was freaking out. Another piece of information is to keep your phone on you at all times. His first phone call came at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. I kept seeing weekend calls for everyone else so when I saw the number I almost panicked thinking it was something bad. That was just when they happened to schedule him for his make up call after being done with SIQ after the wisdom teeth. So much of it made sense....later. LOL
I thought I was the only one. My boy left on the 2/24 from Houston and I got the 10 sec call & the box but no form letter as of yet. Can't stop worrying and any little thing triggers the water work. I do know that no news is good news. But I want to hear his voice or read something that starts with Mom. It eases my mind knowing all this info, at least I can rationalize the lack of communication. I can take a breath now. Thank you everyone
Navy'an, I see elsewhere that you have heard from your son. Hopefully, he was able to shed some light on why you haven't gotten The Form Letter since PIR is 04/24/2105.
Be sure to ask him for the password so that you can download the vehicle/gate pass when the time comes if you plan to drive onto the RTC.
