For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm sorry. The more I think about the days ahead, I mark the days off, then count the number of "Fridays" left. It seems as thinking "5" more Fridays after tomorrow, sounds better than weeks or days. I'm sure he has received your letters, my son mentioned in his letter he was allowed so many minutes to write & only 1_letter was allowed, & only on Sundays.

My son isn't a big writer at all I think I know he won't but if told maybe he will . My son graduates on the 22 that's right on target as what was told to us as they don't count Pdays
I wish it was 5 Friday's
The house is quiet, I started a new job , we had to put our dog down befor he left so a lot of newness to get used too . I thought the busier I am the fast it goes. I have written every day every other day ! Hope he has some bit of home to keep him pushing !!!

He may surprise you. Don't give up hope. I had to show my son how to even address an envelope before he left. He's never mailed anything before, let alone write. I'm sure he will write something, even if it's just a I love you & miss you. I was shocked to see what my son wrote & asked for lots of letters, even if he doesn't get a chance to reply.

No I can't even picture him making a bed, honestly. Lol I just mailed my letters I have written, for which I just received his address yesterday. & that letter was sent to his dad's house, but I will cherish it. I actually cried, happy tears though. It's been a very long 2 weeks, with many more to follow, but this basic training is indeed the hardest on them too, learning and growing, from the sounds of it, they don't have much time to even think about "home".

I suppose that is best that they don't have too much time .is your sone going on to school after? Mine is going to Fla but I don't know how long we will have together after

He is due to go to Florida after training. Pensacola, although I do not know what his schooling is for...something to do with aviation.. That's all I know. He didn't share that much information with me, because he was not even sure. He was indecisive as to what he really wanted to do, so I know whatever training in Florida will cover a magnitude of "jobs" to choose from.

Forever1, just know he appreciates the letters & he may not have even had time to write a little something yet. Sounds like my son was put in that "push" division graduating 4/15, just a week ahead of your son, just hang in there & keep writing, it will mean the world to him.

Same here :-) I'm going to be doing this again with my oldest son here in about a year. Right now he's a junior in college, plans on joining after he's done, but with the Army, unless his younger brother talks him into the Navy. Lol

My son is interested in encryption all I have read it is exactly him!! Hope he loves it !

That's cool. At least he knows what purpose he wants to serve within the Navy. That's a great sign, no worries about him, I'm sure he will do great :-)
