This is the second time for you? My wife is graduating on May 14th too. I have a question. My wife has been there for 2 weeks now so all she's done is in processing so far. She got to make a call on Saturday because she's been so emotional. People have told me that thing will get better for her once training starts. Do you know if that is true? I know physically it doesn't get easier. I'm hoping emotionally it gets easier. Maybe she'll be so busy that she doesn't worry about me and the kids as much.
Your right its ship 14 division 189 my nephew is in that same ship 14 division 189.
my son left on 3/24 also for Chicago. I got the call at 9:53pm that night. He just sounded tired but said the same thing "I'm here, I'm safe I'll call you in three weeks and you'll get my box of stuff before then, I love you bye". I was actually in the shower when he called and my husband brought me the phone after he spoke to him. I had to wipe my face off and talked with him right there, I didn't want to miss that call for nothing! The recruiter also told me they could give me his address to write to him. So I'm assuming I can write to him now? Or are they allowed to get letters the first couple of weeks? I heard they couldn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.
My son's recruiter told me he'd have my son's mailing address for me yesterday. But I haven't been able to reach him. I'm so disappointed.
I started writing 3 days after my wife left and it took about a week before she started getting it. He should be graduating May 14th just like my wife.
My boyfriend left on Monday the 22. Ive gotten his box but not sure of his address how do I get it?
Hey Erin,

I called my husbands recruiter & got his address. I read somewhere that the recruiters can't give the recruits addresses out, but I got it. If for some reason you can't get it from his recruiter your boyfriend will send a form letter that should have this information. I haven't received the form letter yet, but that's what I've read everywhere. I haven't received my husband's box either. Good luck to you and your boyfriend!

My boyfriends recruiter isnt very nice so I doubt he'll give it to me I guess I just have to wait but thank you
My son's recruitor is not that nice but I'm a force to be recond with. If I don't like it they hear about it. I think sometimes they are nice just to get rid of me but that is ok...it's progress.
If they do good and if they don't oh well. Someone discribed it perfect it is a rollercoaster. I miss my son like crazy. I find myself thinking about him all the time. I'm glad to finally have gotten on the website.
Hi Moms!!! So nice to have others who really understand the feelings we are all going through, my son arrived at the Great Lakes on Wed. (March 24). We received the "i'm alright" call around midnight. I can see how getting "the box" from him would be difficult, however he decided to wear old clothes and shoes up there to throw away and I am jealous of all of you who will receive something that actually belongs to your child.....hope that might help in some way. I am anxiously awaiting his information on his ship, div., and address. Basing on the PIR dates of recruits who arrived in earlier weeks I would think our date would be 5/21.........I guess we all know where assuming gets us....so for now I will just HOPE!
Hi Kim
I didn't want to get a box. I thought I might get too upset all over again. But his sneakers were fairly new as was his clothes..so last minute I agreed that he shouldn't throw them away and box them. Now I can't wait to get the box..at least it's something. Still don't have an address yet from the recruiter..maybe tomorrow as it's now the weekend. This experience has already been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and it's only been four days. Guess I'm getting better. At least I'm only crying now and then as thoughts pop into my head. The first two days that's all I did..cry..cry..cry. I love that we have this website to go to. It truly is helpful and comforting.
