Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Son leaving in 2 weeks for Boot Camp
Hello Navy Moms,
I just joined this group yesterday (thank you Google!) and already have learned so much. Can anyone point me to a thread which discusses graduation from Boot Camp for family/friends who want to travel to Illinois. Are dates set? Locations? Where to stay? Any pointers for this as we have many family members who want to come to graduation.

The boot camp page will answer most of your questions. Once your son ships and you know when his PIR date will be you can join that group. Then you'll be with others who will have the same PIR. Lots of good info in the boot camp group!

Hi Jennifer, the Hotels near the base are in waukegan, or lake bluff, Il. Residence inn is very nice a 2 bedroom suite living room has a sofa sleeper, also kitchen is equipped with all. Me and my Huband, Daughter and son in law really enjoyed it. very clean they have a Continental breakfast coffee. you will receive the date when you get the form. on the form is his address, PIR date. if you need any information please do not hesitate to ask. O' hare airport is the closest then you have midway and milwaukee.

You are welcome, and know only four members can go, the rest can stay at hotel and Live stream the graduation, Some hotels carry the Graduation there in a Conferance room so you want to ask when booking. I hear Southwest offers changes of dates without a fee, so that is another thing you may want to check into. As you can see anything is possible so to be on the safe side of things. anything else you can think of let me know. Have a Great Day!
