For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Really? That is so cool. So you have not heard from her yet? I have not heard from my son at all yet. I am hoping for a letter and or phone call soon. Do you know how it works, I am wondering if they left a week a part would they have the same div and ship? I have no idea what it all means but am learning :) Is this your only child in the Navy? Do you have other kids? Corey is my only one and I am missing him so much. It is going to be a long 8 weeks

I did hear from her for 15 seconds on the night of May 29th to say she got there safely...I called her recruiter today and got her address so your son and my daughter are in the same ship and division...She is my oldest, I have a 17 year old son going to be a senior soon. I understand the missing them part...even though I have another child at home she is my first to leave the nest so to speak and I cried when I got the box of her stuff (excited to get it) but then sad when I saw her clothes that she wore come back without her. We shall keep eachother sane...so anytime you need to talk just message me.

I am so happy for you. I have wrote so many letters, other than his PIR date I have not recieved anything :( I am so wishing for a letter. Well, until today b/c another mom posted that she got a letter and was so excited to open it and the whole thing was about how miserable and unhappy he was. I am hoping that it is different for each of them and that my boy is making his way through. I wish they could all be happy and get through it with the least turmoil. Enjoy writing and keep in touch. I will post to everyone when I recieve my first letter.

My daughter in law is in the same group. I'm one of those lucky MIL's my DIL is like my own and i have been missing her like crazy. Finally received the address to send her letters.

Whoaaaa... "I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that he chosed the military over civilian life being that he is college educated" Tampsha, you are about to step on a few toes. My son graduated with honors with degree in electrical engineering from a excellent university with a top engineering department. He could have gotten a job in the civilian sector without too much difficulty. He CHOSE to join the Navy as a nuke officer. No one has ever implied that his career would suffer because of his affiliation with the military. In fact, being in the Navy allowed him to gain experience as a leader that he would not have been able to acquire in a civilian job. He was paid well by the Navy, saved a bundle of money and has benefits such as the GI Bill to help further his education when he chooses to pursue a graduate degree and VA loans to help him buy a house. His commitment ended on March 31. He found another job within 2 months. His Navy experience was definitely a plus. Lady, I hope your son has a different attitude (being college educated and all that); otherwise, he may just find himself being a very lonely individual. BTW, my son had a bunch of perfect 800 on his SATs. He tells me that there are many, many enlisted sailors with IQs higher than his but for whatever reason (no money, no family support, poor study habits, family tragedies, wild high school years, no role model growing up, "it never occurred to them", too wrapped up chasing/doing other things, etc etc). Having a college degree does not guarantee a person a job. Not having a college degree does not mean the person is dumb.
You need to realize being in the Navy is not a poor alternative to have a civilian job. You need to appreciate that your son qualified to be in the Navy - perhaps his college education even help his land his job - you have no idea how many college boys the Navy turns down.
