Hi Cathie, No I haven't heard anything at all from him. Yesterday was his birthday. Missing him real bad also. My SR is my oldest. I have another boy who is a junior in high school. That's nice that your daughter is getting married in June, that should keep your mind of your SR, but I'm sure you still think about him always, like me. My SR is ship09 div165. Will you be going to PIR on June 1st? Hope we can meet somehow. Take care.
Hi Mary Ann I received a letter today, My Sr sounds tired, not a lot of sleep, but had a little since of humor ,It was a short letter,I cried like a baby! I am going to PIR, Does your SR have A school in Great Lakes? I am stressed out a little my daughters wedding is June 16th & I don't know If my SR will get to come home for that? I also hope we can meet at graduation ,Thanks for talking to me.
Hi Cathie, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you in awhile, I had a little sickness problem and just got out of the hospital yesterday. I did receive a letter from my SR, he sounded like he was getting along real well and says he enjoys it there. He was tired and worn out, but he seemed to like the whole experience all in all. Made me feel a little better. Also, I missed his call the other day. He left me a message on my cell and sounded really good. Cried all night I missed the call. My SR does have A school in Great Lakes, does yours? My husband and I have reservations for the Navy Lodge and we are driving from PA. Hope we can finally meet at PIR! Take care
Hi Mary Ann, Hope you are feeling better! My son has been sick,Cold, wisdom teeth pulled,He says he get along real well with everybody too! Hoping this month goes by fast,I think he is tired, well when your not feeling good it don't help,He did say they help each other to get through this. The letter today said they are going into hell week, a lot of inspections . It does sound like he will be glad when boot camp will be over.Ha Ha! Don't know if they will get another call. My son is going to Great Lakes for A school! We are staying at Quality Inn,My husband & one daughter, the other daughter is coming home Friday,Saturday she has a Bridal shower giving from his side of the family. Hope to see ya there? We are driving from Indiana. Have a good week!!!!!!
Hi Cathie, I'm much better. Thank you. I've been reading a lot of posts for our division and it seems like a lot of kids have colds. My son has one too. It also sounds like a lot of them are having their wisdom teeth pulled. Did your son say why they do that? My son had his removed last year, so he won't have to have that done, but it seems like a lot of them have that done. I agree, I hope this month flies by. Can't wait to see my son. I'm sure you are anxious also. I'm so happy they all help each other. Sounds like they all work good together and get along real well. Wasn't sure what hell week was. Is that when they have inspections? This is all new to me. I wonder if our sons know each other? My son's name is Marc. He is going to A school also in Great Lakes. Sure hope we can meet at PIR. I'm getting excited! Hope your sons recovery from the cold and wisdom teeth go smoothly. Take care!
They pull there wisdom teeth cause if they go on a tour & are out for 6 month they do not want to have any problems with there teeth, also at this age is when wisdom teeth starts to be a issue. Yes hell week is all inspections & weapon turnover inspection, then they have there 2nd test & 2nd physical fitness. My son name is James He is having a hard time with stick/flag training he says it is hard! My son is also going to A school at Great Lakes.I am counting the days down. I can't wait for that call I am a sailor!!!! Take care for now, I will try to meet you at PIR!!!!
