Son left for bootcamp on the 10th and still no address...

Anyone else have a son that left on Jan. 10th?

His box of personals came in about a day.   I was told an address would come in about a week...so I could start writing him.  Nothing yet and tomorrow will be 2 weeks!

Trying to be patient but not really feelin' it.....

It could be that it has been a wait to fill a division.  I'm guessing that he would have arrived on the 11th, then there was the weekend and federal holiday which may have slowed things down a bit.  Our sailor's mail would usually get to us on Wednesdays when he'd mail them out on Mondays.  I'm not sure where you are, but mail delivery could take a day or two longer.  Hang in there, it will come soon.  If not, call his recruiter to see if he's been assigned to a division yet.  I wouldn't rely on the address the recruiter might have, but getting his ship and division # may give you some reassurance.

Got the address, finally!!!  He is on ship 11 div 083....anyone else with a son there?

I know JessicaB will say this, but I'm going to beat her to the punch this one time...just for fun.

For Division 083, you need to join this group:

Craig...you're too funny. I LOVE the John Darling post BTW. I work with veterans in a nursing home and always get a giggle out of some of the last names and imagine hearing their Chiefs having to bellow out some of those odd names....I feel like everyone cringes just a bit or I can imagine shoulders shaking from held back laughter.
