Yes.  Every chow hall or galley provides a nice dinner, even at sea.  In boot camp, the day is the relaxed schedule, like a Sunday.  I spent Thanksgiving in boot camp, and we had turkey with all the trimmings.

Thanks I was worried that he would not have a dinner at A school

In A school, they can choose to eat at the chow hall, or go into town for a holiday meal, and some go to the homes of friends who have family in the area.  Some get adopted by local churches.  If they want a dinner, they can find a dinner.

It was so nice to hear my son and others in his division were adopted out for Thanksgiving. He and the others were fed really well and were given cell phones to call us that day. I even got a picture of him! He's a meat and potatoes guy but was most excited about all of the CANDY he got! He's been talking about missing candy so much in every one of his letters home. I don' t know what group adopted these guys that day, but whoever you are, THANK YOU SO MUCH from a mom of a Div. 803, ship 4 recruit (PIR 12-12-14 , only 11 more days)!!
