I am very new to all this Navy life and so very proud of my daughter. Can anyone help me understand the Tiger Cruise for the Eisenhower, 2013? Where to sign up, where to go, well, just about anything possible. I do not know anyone else whose child is in the Navy, and I am a single mom. I am hoping to find support here.
Warm Regards~ Margaret

Thank you! I find all these various websites confusing since I am so new at this. I caught a call from my daughter this morning which has really made my day. Thank you for your reply. Do you have a son or daughter in the Navy? On Ike?
Son. Not on the Ike though.
Yes, navigating through here can be a chore. I'd love to go on a Tiger Cruise, but my son's ship is so small, I doubt they have them. Hope you get the chance to go.
Tiger Cruses are the best! If you are not already registered with the email for the Family Readiness Group for the Eisenhower, contact the Fleet and Family Support Center in Norfolk at 757-444-2102; they can give you the point of contact so you can get on that email distribution list. Also ask for the ombudsman contact info and connect with the command ombudsman. They will keep you updated on events and can answer many of the questions that you have about the command.
My daughters have been on several Tiger Cruises with their dad, but I finally got to go on one with my daughter last year. Rode her ship from Hawaii to San Diego. It was amazing to experience her life and meet everyone with whom she had been living for seven months. If you can possibly arrange it, GO!
My daughter really wants me to go and I want to do it as well. She and I are quite close and sharing her first return from tour would be great. I will call the number you listed and start there for information. I tried to become a member of the FRG? group but got nowhere. I appreciate your help. Thank you so much!
In general, another family with a sailor on that boat will to give you the name of the ombudsman who will take your contact info and confirm that you have a sailor on board ship before they add you as a member to the Facebook Family Readiness Group. Contact Ike's ombudsman. If you haven't joined the IKE group, join that.
