Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Undesignated Sailor before New Recruit?
Hey Ladies! I hope everyone is doing well today... I have yet, another question =)
If a sailor for whatever reason is not able to complete A-school and gets put as undesignated OR a new recruit goes to MEPS, nothing is available that they want to do but they want to kick start their new future and go in undesignated, how will they be able to jump into a rate once one becomes available? Confusing the way I worded it, but lets use me as an example.... (this is all hypothetical bc I havnt even gotten into DEP yet or seen a recruiter, just talked to one a couple of times on the phone)
Example: I finally get to MEPS and chose the rate I really want which happens to be available as EOD.... I get to BC, make it through and get to A-School..... Lets say I dont meet one of the requirements, like swimming the 500 yard in the min time frame and I flunk all the re-tries I get. Then as a result, I'm put "Undesignated" and I go about my way and I'm doing random jobs for about a year and finally find something I'm good at and a position opens up as, I don't know, lets say Mechanic..... Then.....
A brand new recruit who went into BC as Undesignated because he wants to be a mechanic but it wasnt available at the time, makes it through and does random jobs for 3 months and the mechanic rate opens up. Or it opens as soon as he gets out of BC.
If theres not enough room to bring both in, who do they go for first? The one who's been there longer or the one who's shown better progress? OR the one that originally wanted it first?
I'm just running different scenarios in my head and want to have an understanding on how the Navy system works before going in =)

I'm making sure to ask all questions that I can think of that may arise now before I go and swear in.... Not at that stage yet but I REALLY REALLY want to do it lol... One thing is for sure and thats gaining patiencem which I know I have to have an abundance of.... I'm asking questions, praying and taking it one day at a time... Thank you for your reply =)
