Veterans Day - From a Retired Navy Vet to all SINGLE Ladies ONLY!

Ok, I know you regular moms just couldn't help to click on this this post too.  It's actually for both
of you guys (the married and single ladies)...

What I want to say is today alot of people will pay respect to me for my service today.  But lets get
down to the truth.  Without the support of the family members back home we sailors would
have a really hard time.  We need and thrive on letters and packages.  It keeps us going.
The bottomline is without you guys we would really have a hard time.  So even though this
day pays respect to veterans, there is alot more with in.  The true backroom workers are the ones
that are not shown, they are the family members.

So write your sailor today and tell them that you respect their decision to support our fine country.  They need to hear it from people within their own family too.

Secondly, I would recommend people join groups like Molly's adopt a sailor project" or others.  They are awesome and are a direct link to our sailors.
You can help as simple as just clicking a "like" button on facebook.  The big companies will donate money to winners, which is then used to give much needed items to our sailors.  Read more here:

Also:
Make it a point to just go to one packing party, and you will learn the true joy it is to our sailors.
On that note, since you ladies are awesome, it's time to give you a special dance.  Even though this is for the single ladies only, you married ladies can watch it too....

I found this on YouTube and found it sooooo funny....(I love the head bob)

OMG... shoot me now!  You've done IT again, Craig!  roflmao

Here's another worthy cause if anyone is in the Chicagoland area.  I'm an Honor Flight volunteer and this flight season we flew just under 1,000 WW2 veterans to D.C.  I've met some real heros... from survivors of Omaha Beach and Iwo Jima to those who had ships sunk from under them (one guy had THREE) in the Pacific.

Fully agree with Craig!  Also hope more people go to Molly's group...my friend is the CMC of the ship that got the Oct packages...OMG..he was FLOORED with how much support people showed to his ship!

Amen Craig! Yeah...I'm married but you sucked me in! Thanks for the links and ummm... the video?! LOL

Here are some other dancers for you!

I have to say on a personal note that supporting my husband and son made me feel close to them when they were so far away (son was in BC but still, I put funny jokes and word searches and pictures on the back of his letters)...it felt good to do something tangible for them.

I had so much fun thinking up stuff to send my husband to try and boost morale when some days were so low. I became a greeting card connoisseur, trying to find the funniest and most meaniful cards! I even managed to get in on some private jokes with his buds and send some stuff that related to it. It was the best.
