OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Wedding in Charleston after Graduation / Before A School / During A School
Ok - my son and his soon to be wife want to get married before he starts A school in Charleston after his March 30 graduation. Need help in determining what they need to do, what's the best way to go about this(ceremony or courthouse), what paperwork needs to be completed, permission, etc... Any help or specific groups / conversation or direction would be greatly appreicated.

Nuke school, yes? When he checks in, they ask who is getting married and start them on the correct paperwork. Some of them even go home to get their brides, but that's very much on a case by case basis. I saw one post in a discussion in the girlfriends/fiances/wives group which seemed like the bride had to hop a plane ASAP.

I Just got married on the 2/10/12. My husband was told if he wanted to get married with me, he would have to do it Now. U have to understand my Husband graduated boot on 2/4, When he arrived to A school. They asked everyone who wanted to get married. And my husband raised his hand, they told him If he wants to get married with me, I have to be there by Wednesday 4pm. So I only had a day to pack what I could and fly to SC. After I got there, they only gave us a few days to head to the court house and get married. The day of my wedding I had to go to the office with my husband and let them know we are married. That same day, Since it was on a Friday they gave me a Temp house till they could find me my house. The reason why we had to do it like this was cuz they told him that once they start A school they wont let u get married till after A school. So u could be waiting from 3 to 6 months. So we got married at the court house and in a few month we are having our wedding at the Chapel. I hope this helps. Would have loved for some one to let me know what to expect. . . If u have any more questions dont be afraid to ask. . .

Now I do know of sailors who married during A school at Goose Creek, but I also know the rules can change overnight. Since the post above from this young lady is more recent, I'd have to assume that's what the school is currently doing.
Courthouse is the way to go, they can always have a family ceremony later.

Thank you so much for the advice. We just didn't know what to do or what to expect. I was thinking we'd have to get married through the courthouse based on what I was reading and have a wedding later, but I wasn't sure!
