For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

What personal items should I take to graduating sailor?
Hi-- I am new to this site and I love it- so thank you in advance!
I am headed to PIR in a few weeks and my daughter will be leaving for A school out of state the next day. What personal items am I allowed (or should I) take to her and can I give those to her after PIR or do I have to give them to her at the airport the next day??
Thank you for any advice you can give me!

mtmama if she is flying out she will have her big sea bag already, but if you want to put some things maybe a pair of New Tennis her phone, tablet you can use a black backpack to put those belongings. And Yes at the airport you will take to her. She will not be allowed to take anything back with her on base. So please get her information her schedule as to flying out and what airport, what time she will be arriving at airport so you can meet up with her or be there before her. here are some sites. about airport info.
