I have my father WWII Navy vet he is 89.  Is there a way to get him in (he has a ticket) an easier way then standing for hours so he can sit.  Also there aren't many WW II vets left would he be able to get a better seat as his vision isn't great   I think he earned a bit of extra care

Get there early to reduce the time in traffic and in line and consider using a wheelchair for him. Some have been able to get special seating for a WWII Vet by contacting the PAO.

See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.

If you don't get a hold of the PAO, when you get there let them know you need a wheelchair, then at least he will be able to sit down while the waits in line if you don't get there early enough.  Keep in mind the wheel chair seating only one family member may sit with him so your group will be split up.  Wheelchair seating is on the floor so he will have a good view of what is going on.

Thank you ladies for the information. Is there a number for the PAO office ? Hopefully they haven't been effected by the shut down

You can contact the RTC Public Affairs Office at 847-688-2405 or via e-mail at rtc.pao@navy.mil. I suggest email so you have a written record of the response.
