My son leaves for boot camp on 8/8 and we are all feeling a mixture of pride, fear, anxiety, excitement... all that! BUT... my son's sweet  girlfriend is freaking out! They have been dating for a little over a year and have known each other for years (from church). They both graduated from high school this May and she is headed to college in late August.

She had a big, old crying meltdown last night and it upset my son. He told me she is crying every day. He is telling her that she can write him in boot camp and that once he gets to A school they can talk, Skype, etc. She is supportive of his decision, but I think her heart is broken. :(

I had already planned to talk with her about what she should write to him in boot camp~ encourage her to keep things positive and minimize the "I miss you" aspect.

Now I am thinking I might need to have a chat with her about holding it together these last few weeks.

She is such a sweetheart and I adore her. I hate for her to be sad and I get it, but I think she is stressing my son out.

Any advice, ladies??

thanks so much! ♥

my boyfriend & i have been dating two years, and he left for basic june 13th.But i cried some before & i didnt cry at the airport, i cried after where i wouldnt make him worry. but im suprisingly taking this very well. but if she ever needs someone to talk to, just talk to me (:

Thank you! I think I will direct her to the Navy girlfriend groups on here. I sent her the links a long time ago, but I think she might actually look at them now. I will also let her know that you offered to talk with her. That is very sweet of you!

Hope your boyfriend is doing well.

Just have her message me on here. He is doing great. I am very proud of him for doing his dream in life. Only 3 & 1/2 more weeks till I see him its gone by so fast. (:

Thank you! She is out of town this week, but I will give her the info when she return.

Glad your boyfriend is doing well!
