Hey Ship 12, Div 057 moms please leave your name and something fun from your SR's first short note. My SR said the food wasn't "super bad" and he likes his new hair cut.  Aren't our young men and women the best!  Hope to hear from several of you soon!

Wow you got a better deal than we did.  I got a one bedroom King for $79 and a 2 double bed room for $89.  They told me that was the Navy PIR rate at the Hawthorne Suites in Wadsworth.  You probably got it on Priceline cheaper.  I may try it again & cancel mine but everything I have been looking at seems to say there aren't many rooms available.

Just got a call earned for a "perfect rack". Says the division has actually started coming together. They do have a flag now. On day 3/4 she thinks. Marlinspike is Monday. She sounded very pumped. I asked her what she wanted after boot and she said SWEETS! lol. She also said we're going shopping at the NEX because they actually have NAVY hello kitty stuff.

Thanks for the info from your daughter.  I'm going to read about Marlinspike now since that's what we wil be doing Monday.  Did you hear about the green scarfs Div 057 & 058 are wearing to PIR?  I rented my car but it was $40 instead of $20.  You seem to get the best deals!! I went on priceline and everything.

We have decided on renting a car.  I am nervous because I have never driven on ice or in the snow, but we figured it would end up being a lot cheaper than shuttles, taxis, buses and trains.  Hope we aren't too late in finding a rental.  I will let you know what we find.  We are also hoping for a call today.  Don't know why we are thinking it will come, but hoping!

I'm hoping since snow is usual there that the roads will be cleared etc. and it won't be too bad.

My husband says that Marlinspike is basic ship line handling.

That's good.  They probably need that!

We ended up getting car from Alamo for about $35 a day.   Looks like there is a winter storm heading Waukegan tomorrow.   The 3rd can't get here soon enough for me!    Does anyone know if it's a for sure thing that our grads get to spend 24 hours with us after graduation?

Man everyone is getting better prices than I did.  Oh well.  After reading all of the posts I'm not really sure if anyone knows how long they get to be with us.  Hopefully we will all at least get to spend Friday with them after PIR.

Hey I made one of the green scarfs tonight with the pattern winterrosebud sent out.  It looks great.  I don't think it can really be messed up.  However, it took me forever because the elastic thread would break fairly often.  I bought a fleece remnant and it worked really well and will actually be warm and not just decorative.  I bought different knit material earlier in the week in the same lime green.  That is the only green I can seem to find.  Hopefully I can get it made tomorrow.  I was going to let my sister pick which one she wants to wear but I really like this fleece one so I think it may be mine!!

Hi where did you find the men's fleece green scarf?

Lizzyb, I just searched online one night and found several scarfs that were reasonable for men.  I searched under men's scarfs.  However, I didn't purchase any.  I bought material and made two women's scarfs and if my husband gets to go I will make him a fleece one from some remnant fleece I bought.
