Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi ladies. I haven't heard anything official, no letter from my sailor yet. I called the recruiter's office and was told he is in Ship 2, Div 911. From everything I was able to read, they are a special group that performs (band, choir, drill team, honor guard, etc). I am not an expert and am repeating what I read. I heard they have more work than some of the other recruits because of the time it takes to prepare for their performances. I understand they actually participate in other PIRs after their fourth week in boot camp. Let me know if you get the same info. Although I am using "KidsLuvNavy" as my name, please feel free to call me Lynn.

I have heard the same thing about this division. If you could know exactly what part they do it would be great to see it on the upcoming PIR's. Still waiting to hear from my son. Do you think that they will get some time on Christmas to let them have a longer phone call? I am not sure how the holiday time works in bootcamp. Any thoughts?

Hi All, Finally got my graduation letter today. My son is ship 2 div 911. He wrote a letter on the back of the paperwork and said that the 911 division is a special/elite unit and that he was hand picked by a chief. He said they got their first punishment last night because the showers were not spick and span. He said that boot camp is alot to handle but he is doing ok. I can't tell you how much better I feel now - He graduates on Feb 3rd.

Hello all....has anyone gotten a letter from Div 911? I know they are busy but I am not sure if its my son or the unit.. LOL so... please let me know..

Nope, haven't heard anything either. It will probably go to his dad, who he lived with prior to arriving at boot camp. But last I heard was that he hasn't gotten a letter either. He did get the box of clothes. I started writing anyway, hoping the recruiter gave me the correct ship & division. (Otherwise, I pray I don't get my sailor in trouble if I have the wrong address.) Let's all be patient though. It could be that the extra duties are taking up a lot more of their time and energy. Let's face it, if they have the chance to sleep or write... If they're smart, they'd sleep. :o)
Let's all keep each other posted when we start getting information. I know I'm really, really glad to have this group to go to! Thanks all.

Yes its the only thing keeping me from worry ...his div must be extra busy ..other div with same PIR have written home already :-( so happy for them ....sad for me

Hi All! I just mailed my son his Christmas Card!! I couldn't even write anything in it but that I love him! I guess if I had signed it before his 9 year old sister and Dad I would have been better! lol
I sure do hope that they are getting our mail! I know they are very busy and with the 911 extra stuff I'm sure more busy! I can't remember where I saw and then read it but it was a week by week break down of everything they do. Really interesting and intense. If I find it again I will post a link...

Hi All,
It's Sunday - any chance our phones are going to ring today? When my son called upon arrival he said 3 weeks. My guess is either today or most likely next Sunday which would be on Xmas - either or both would be fine. If anyone on our ship gets a real letter or phone call - please post so we all know.
