Hi all, I am not very artsy craftsy, and I was wondering if any of you are making a memory box or scrapbooking project for your SR's momentos. I have a bunch of pictures from Nick's going away party,…Continue

J&R thanks for the info, I will share with my son. He will be happy to hear about the golf course.  My son will be on the Milius which is also a destroyer.  I am already looking forward to my first visit out there even though I have no idea when I will be going.

Hi jdmom!  We just got home from dropping our son in San Diego.  He is all settled in, and we looked around the base.  Lots to do there and a trolly ride into downtown SD.  The base has a huge gym, golfing range and 3 par course, bowling alley, etc etc.  He has 3 roommates in the barracks where the sailors stay that are on ships.  So nice to see him becoming an independant young man.  The weather here is gorgeous!  Tell your son congrats.  What ship is he on?  Mine is on USS Preble which is a destroyer.

Hi J&R, My son comes home tomorrow for two weeks and then heads out to San Diego.

We are on the East Coast so he is very excited to be going to the West Coast.

Hi All!  My SR has been home for 2 weeks on leave, we are in So Cal.  He is stationed in San Diego so we are leaving this morning to take him to the base so he can begin his job.  His ship is on deployment now, so I am not sure if they will send him to the ship or he will wait here.

Well Brandon Thornburg and Erica Thornburg got married yesterday! I thought they were going to keep it a secret untill the real "wedding" when he gets back from his first deployment but they just could not keep it in!!!  Please help me pray for them and thier new life together as Hubby and Wiffy! May God Bless them in every way! She will stay home when he gets back from his first deployment.

forevermom - She was told she can finish up in 4 days. She will have to go back and be cleared by her surgeon first. Right now she is in  alot of pain but is dealing with it. Most of the pain is coming from having to wear the bands. The equipment on her teeth to hold the bands are what is hurting. If she doesnt wear the bands then her jaw doesnt line up right. I am praying that when she goes back the surgeon does not want to do a second surgery.  She has to report back July 29th.
