I just found out from my daughter's recruiter that is is in Div 913 Ship 2 Reuben James with a PIR of 2/6/2015. She spent four years in marching band in school so I don't know if it is instrument or flags.

How cool! My Son was in division 952 he graduated 11/7/14. Was in the same ship name. Only thing was he wasn't in the band in high school and didn't play any instruments so they put him in the flags because he was tall and strong and had good asvab scores. It was really really cool seeing him carry a flag in the ceremony. They practiced a lot! Sounds like she'll be playing an instrument since she has experience. But that's just MY guess. Good luck to her, she'll be great!

Div 913 is a triple threat division so it very well could be her musical skills. You can search for 900 division on here and read more about it. There are three different rotations for the 900's, staff, flags, and triple threat. It depends on what rotation is next when a recruit arrives at boot camp as to what their job will be. My son was in 951 and PIR'd 10/31 he was in the staff division as a body snatcher. Her is a little info for triple threat.....

Triple Threat is comprised of those who are on that week's Rifle Drill team and all those who were chosen for their musical abilities. The Blue Jacket Choir performs the National Anthem, Anchors Aweigh and anything else they've been tasked with. The band plays at various times throughout the ceremony. The Drum Corps also marches and helps everyone else stay in step and keep time. Those in a Triple Threat division will not march in with the other divisions since they will already be on the Drill Hall floor.

Thanks, I had found out about the division through this page.  I'm thinking it is her height and marching skills.  She played mellaphone, french horn, and flute in band.  They do not have those instruments in the band from what I have found out.

I am excited for my son he is in the 913
