Yea, got the first phone call this afternoon. He sounds great, even learned to make a bed.Amazing! He said they are starting the"cool" stuff.  Got mail a couple of days ago; sent out mail first time today. Excited for him!

Hi, I just joined. My daughter is in this group.

Welcome debzz3!

my daughter is to.

Booked our airline tickets yesterday thru MWR travel agency listed on the brochure we were sent by our SRs. We are flying to Milwaukee for $268 a ticket from San Francisco. Great price! This was $150 per ticket cheaper than flying into O'Hare. The agent was Barbara and she was very helpful. She also reserved a car for us. If you haven't booked your flight - call MWR. Still no news from my SR. Will let you all know when I hear anything.

Glad to have another daughter in the mix.  I know there had to be more.  Was hoping more Moms will find and use this site.  It's nice just knowing that I'm not the only one going through this.  It really does make it easier.

Just checked the Great Lakes Naval Station web site and they now have our kid's Div. 952 listed on the graduation list.  It's offical Moms.  Not sure how many of you are planning and able to go to the graduation.  Hopfully most of you.  If you have started making plans maybe now is the time to start.  From what I can tell this will be a large group graduating on Nov 9th.

We have made our hotel reservations already. I can't wait. We are driving though. We live in central Illinois so it isn't too far for us. I am glad to see more moms here. I love seeing all of the stories about these great kids. I can't wait to hear what my son will be doing in the 900 div.

I posted this on the main wall and PIR 11/09/2012 TG 52 but wanted to make sure you guys saw it. I hope all of you are getting letters too. And maybe your SR's were more forthcoming in their letters.

Finally a letter!!! It was so good and so sad all at the same time. He sounds good except that he says he hasn't received any letters from home. That is what made me completely lose it. I don't want him to think we aren't writing. I have been writing since he left and been mailing them for about 1 1/2 weeks now...I sure hope he has gotten them by now.

I got a letter yeaterday too!!!! She sounds really good and also very busy.  She kept talking about a triple-threat division prior to bootcamp and was hoping to be in one.  How great is it that our kids are going to be in a triple threat 900 div ?  To top it all off it's also a push division.  So not only do they have so much to learn and do, they get to do it all in a shorter amount of time.  No wonder she doesn't seem to have that much time to write.

Just found this group,my daughter is in ship 2 div 952, she didn't mention in her letters that this was a musical group, she said she was picked for H Division, anyone know what that is.

Sorry, I haven't heard of it wendym56. =( The 900 divisions are the ones that have "jobs" to do during PIR. Our particular group IS a Triple Threat Division(every 3rd one is). They are the band, the choir, and the rifle drill team. Does she have a musical background at all? PS I am sending you a friend request. =)
