Talking about Cake...I almost forgot about the mayonaise and vinegar chocolate cake my Mom used to make. It was always so moist!! I love chocolate cake...
Yumo Connie! I'll have 2 pieces and a cuppa with you! I need to put a couple pounds on again! My dear departed Mother in law always made Texas sheet cake and I adore Alaskan sheet cake!! A 1/2 gainer, hmmmm, I hope I get a chance to see that as well!
Sherrill- I am sure that son of yours is home!! " Hug him and squeeze him and make him your own!" Hugs from all his Navy Aunties!!
We did get some nice moisture out of the snow yesterday..got about 5". The northern and eastern parts of the state got slammed 16" with white out conditions in places...
Have a great Saturday all...

CC-congrats on your new bed. we got the mattress topper and it is wonderful....only problem i have found...turning over...i tend to do a "half-Gainer flip"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYjTIVuSEgU
oooh Sherrill-Happy Happy Happy!!!!
Hey Y'all. Checking in from the south. CC glad we are having the liquid kind of weather instead of the solid. People here don't know how to handle it. Congrads, Sherrell, seeing our Sailors is such a precious gift. Just when I get to missing mine the most, he calls just to talk to his Mom. There must be some kind of connection. And did someone mention Chocolate Cake? My grandmother used to make one with homemade icing, the cake always slit at the top and the icing would melt into it. It was the best cake ever, she always cried because it split, but that was the best part. Y'all have a great day.
Wow we finally got some snow! 3"-4" now but looking at as much as 6" by end of the day! Hope we can retain it for a couple of days. Oooo I love our new bed so far! We both slept great right off.
Reds- We had looked at one before Christmas and we got a great deal on it during a grand opening and first of the year sale, they sent us some coupons and we ended up paying 1/2 price for the bed!! I wish we had been able to do this earlier... Price was a deciding factor for us too!
Sherrill- I have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers today. Thinking of how happy you will all be to see and hold each other again!
Connie- My folks grew up near where the plane went down outside of Mason City, Ia. I have even been to the last place they played... I often wonder how it would have been if they had not died that night?
Have a great Friday and enjoy the Super Bowl weekend all!! We are planning french dips and veggie trays! Yum!
well dang! i need to sharpen my skills MNM! i totally missed Chocolate Cake Day about a week or so ago!!! and Candlemas does sound waaay better than GroundHogs' Day....i mean Ground=Dirt and Hog=Pig....actually DirtyPig's Day sounds better!!! well funnier......
sad to say that Feb. 3rd....The Day that Music Died...RIP Buddy, Richie and the Big Bopper
Good night my girlies!!!
Morning!
Reds- We are so behind here on moisture it is scary, farmers and ranchers have been told they qualify for disaster relief (just yesterday) In this part of Colorado if you don't have irrigation rights you have a dust bowl!
Sherrill- Sounds like you had a wonderful time last night! It is amazing how traveling troupes do it! I was part of a traveling show back in my college days and it was a sight to see. We loved it! One more day 'till you have your son home!! HOOYAH!!
MNM- I wish I could have been there with you yesterday! What a wonderful privilidge! That's how I felt being at the traveling Vietnam Memorial when it was here last summer!!
We have a busy day ahead. We are having our new Sleep Number bed delivered and set up. Can't wait!! Have a good one all!
