good evening my girlies (croaking it out with a sore throat).
Drew's Mom....soooo know what you mean....just the mere mention that snow or ice is headed our way and every one runs to the grocery for milk and bread.
"changes" in the Navy?.....awwww say it ain't so! hehehehe
Drew's mom Debbie- I know it can be rough when your child is away from home the first time, especially on birthdays and holidays! Those days are behind us for a few years now, with B being 30 yrs old. His former jobs took him to Seattle, Chicago and New York. It sounds like you are having a beautiful fall where you live. We hardly had any fall colors this year because we had such a dry summer. Did you know that the colors or intensity of fall leaves is determined by how much moisture the trees get each year?
Reds mom- I have been trying to get caught up on everything I missed while I was away since June...Is your son in OK? Sounds like Tinker Air Force Base? It really has been strange weather and events out there.
Good morning new friends. It's a beautiful day here in the South. Temps in the mid 70's, leaves changing, yellow, orange and bright red. If we got 1" of snow here, the whole world stops. No school, no work, and for some reason we all buy bread and milk.
@ Connie - My Sailor PIR'ed 8-12 and was very lucky, he classed up quickly both times. His grad date for ATT is 12-14, if everyting goes as planned. My son turned 20 yesterday. So I completely understand how Monday would be a bad day for both of us. This is the first time he was away for his B'day. I know my son has about 12 students in his class. But he does stand out in a crowd. He's 6"4" and has a definite southern accent. And for some reason, he is singled out by the PO's regularly. I'll tell my son to be on the look out for a guy from Colorado. Have a great day.
Good Morning Ladies! We have snow this morning, 1" of gorgeous moisture laden snow!! We have been lucky so far this year to have had a nice amount of moisture. Hoping it continues as we have had several very dry winters in our area. Still in a drought situation but not as bad as it has been!
Drew's mom- I was definitely having a MONDAY yesterday when I said B had been in P'cola since April! He was is BC in April! He got down to Fl late June. Had a bit of a wait before classing up. I'll bet your son is a class or so behind him. He is 30 years old, how old is your son? Wouldn't it be a kick if they were in the same class!!
Well, time to run. Got a busy day ahead. Hope that you all have a great Tuesday!
Thanks. Colorado Connine - he has been in Pensacola since August. -- Marine Navy Mom - he has mentioned going to Jacksonville for C school, after the first of the year.
As I understand it, Pensacola closes for Christmas after 12-16 and his grad date for this school is 12-14 and it takes at least a week to process out of one station to another. So we are looking to have him home for Christmas and maybe even till shortly after the 1st. We live in Alabama, so he will be able to come home for Thanksgiving, as far as we know. Enjoying the time we have, because soon we know that will change.
Good Morning my Girlies!! another one of "those" days.....yep the sky is the color of a Robin's egg!!!
Sailor Son is so sweet...he started off his first day with an email to family ; )
fingers crossed for you Reds that your boy is sitting down with the family on Turkey Day!!!!
MNM-thank you for your insights on the deployment rotation.
DrewsmomDebbie- Our son is still in P'cola as well. He is in the process, how long has your son been there? B has been there since April.
redsmom- I had heard about the quakes , my brother lives in Kansas and they felt some of it clear up there! Hope your sailor gets his chit approved! Keep us posted!
