All of this talk about cookies and cheesecake is not good it makes me want to bake and it is too hot here in Texas to do that or maybe I could just cook it outside on my front step. lol  On the countdown for my sailor to come home on leave - 8 mores days and he will be headed home for two weeks.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

good morning my girlies!!  glad you enjoyed the Nekkid Guy story!! Bless his little pea-pickin' heart, the police hauled him away and we never saw him again!!! his beautiful house was sold and the new guy there has the prettiest lawn in the neighborhood.....i don't think this new guy has a gun.....

but golly i bet y'all think i live in the most crime-ridden area.....inner city....noooooo a really pretty neighborhood, high school principal across the street, surrounded by teachers and FedEx National Hdqtrs people....and a sprinkle of "crazies".

Good morning happy sailor mommas!!

It is a good day - one more till the weekend and my sailor son will be home for a short visit before heading to his next duty station.

He finally got ALL his stuff packed for his departure. He was getting alittle frustrated about getting it done.

CC...nothing like fresh baked cookies in the morning...maybe with our coffee, just a thought! Well the smell alone would put 10 lbs on me:(

MNM ~ safe travels to SD and enjoy your visit with your Marine! Nothing like a good game of gold in Cali.....swing~!

Connie - I agree with Cindy your neighborhood stories could make some great shows/movies....Director Connie calls "action" !!

Thanks for the nice things you have said about B! We are very proud of our boy! ( I am sure you couldn't tell!) Dont get me wrong he has had some rough times as well because of bad choices, but he learned from those experiences and has landed on 2 very steady feet, with his head on straight! There were a couple of years where we really wondered about how things would turn out! Youngin's ya know...they have to make thier own mistakes and then make their own way.

bryters    They actually did a news piece on him on a couple of local networks, and the paper too, his training and the reason his was riding His friend wash still doing well with her lungs then. They filmed him riding through the Garden of The Gods in Colorado Springs an area where there are amazing rock formations. It was really cool. The best part were the great donations that came in after, one annonymous donor sent $1000.00!

If the mention of my cookies sent you guys, you would love my seceret Newy York style cheese cake and my famously rich bread pudding with orange sauce!! I actually used to sell my cheese cakes! They were expensive and eventually they got too expensive to make and get anything for my time. each one took almost a full day to make!! I love to bake. My Husband and his room mate used to fight over the stuff I would bring to them! The ticket to a guys heart is baked goods!!

MNM...have a safe trip and have a great time golfing!! The Women's US Open is going to be here in Colorado this year at The Broadmor in Colo. Spgs!

Cindy   I agree that would make for good story line or plot for a show. They have to have Connie as the narrator and you should write the scripts!! So glad that  Connie and the neighbors are all safe! Sad that the man lost his family, I can see why it would make a sane person crack!

ok here's the Nekkid Guy and the Gun story....

it was a beautiful Spring day in Tennessee.  i put Sissy on the school bus and did the mad dash into the house to get future Sailor Son on the road to his school.  it was about a 20 min. drive.

i dropped Sailor Son off in front of the school...in the correct line, thank you....no getting in front of the other moms....yes i do know how to follow the rules.

i proceeded to drive home.  As i walked in the door the phone was ringing and my neighbor was asking if i had seen the Nekkid Neighbor-man with his gun shootin' up the neighborhood?  no dang it...i missed it!!!

"tell me more" i asked.  "well" she said "he got a little ticked off when his family decided to leave him because he was crazy".

"oh yeah i can see how that would certainly tick you off....i mean if your family won't stick around when you're crazy then can you ever trust any of them again?"

the neighbor told me that the "incident" took place at exactly ONE MINUTE after i passed his house leaving the neighborhood to take my Sailor boy to school !!  i mean i could have been shot....shot DEAD....we dodged bullets by a mere 60 seconds!!!! Me and Sailor boy are lucky to be alive!!! thankfully all that was "killed" were a bunch of windows.

and you know what?....now this is the part that really gets me....he wasn't nekkid at all....he was wearing his socks!!!

CC-oh you got me on the cookies....my mind went blank...oh dear oh dear oh dear can we just savor the moment here...yes....channeling the cookie.........

thanks for the info on the floater...we'll see what happens.  he called earlier and his appointment on the ear/tube issue is July 12th at 9:30....the day AFTER classes start!!!  dern!!  he said he would call back and see if he can get in sooner.

aww bryters you are so sweet!  i need some uninterrupted N4M time with my west Tn girlies....put it on the "the dad's" calendar and he thinks he can "work around' it.....sounds promising : )
