For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

well maybe a little rain is in our forecast....the LAST thing we need is more water!!!!
trying to post a picture of a deer on top of someone's house...poor animal was trying to escape the flooding....N4Ms acting screwy or it's my computer and i can't get it posted.

Connie that is a nice pillowcase. I am sure it will remind him of home everytime he sleeps on it.
redsmom I hope that we see the rain also. It is just north of us right now and if we are lucky it will move south before it blows on through.

Matt's mom-yes the pillowcase project for the Bush...i followed it on the Bush page and it was wonderful to read about their progress!! since my Sailor won't be on the Bush until the middle of Sept. (we're hoping he won't get a TAD to some other ship) i made a pillowcase for him to take to Oceana for when he does get on the Bush. here's his pillowcase....skulls for my Headbanger!

I had not sewn very much before joining Heads at Ease and actually recruited a friend and my DIL to do the sewing if I would cut and iron the material for them. After watching them for awhile I decided I would give it a try on my own and now help organize sewing parties in my area. lol Of course pillowcases are the extent of my sewing projects. My friend gets a kick out of the fact that she can now share her coupons from Joann's with me. She has been trying for years to convince me that sewing is fun and relaxing. I guess it took the right project to motivate me to learn.
Cindy thanks for helping with the project by donating. There are a lot of people that help in so many ways and it wouldn't be possible for the project to have produced as many pillowcases as we have without everyone pitching in.

Happy Thursday Ladies....it's my Friday. Only work half a day to go run final errands with my daughter before PROM tomorrow. We are expected to get thunderstorms here in Htown today and we need it too!
I have read about the Pillowcase Projects and that sounds really neat...5000 WOW that's alot of pillowcases but well worth the effort!
R is enjoying his night Yeoman duty but irritated that his liberty time is opposite all his buddies. I told him to adapt now; that this is trial run for how it could be later after he gets his next assignment. He agreed:-) Luv it when I can still have Mommy talks and it works!

Connie did you know that Heads at Ease gave out homemade pillowcases to every sailor on the Bush before they deployed. That was over 5,000 pillowcase made for this project!

marine_navy-on the Bush page the moms have found all kinds of video as the carrier left....not much fanfare but i sure hope there will be a big welcome home party for them!!!

So funny Donna, We are the Smokin Studs. lol Team was my hubby, son and two of their friends. One moved to Alabama, the other got a Harley, My son left for the Navy. Now my Daughter and SIL moved back home so it's the 4 of us, SO a name change is NOT out of the question. I'll run Smokin Hot Navy Moms by them. I like it.

whoa bryters--we're just "amateurs" compared to you!! but my husband would love to share his secret wing "procedure"....our neighbor Big Pat says my husband "worries" his wings!!! send details of the Southaven cook off....maybe we can sneak away and come see you!!! what's your team? brother in law was on the Pork Authority and a friend was on the Holy Smokers : ) if i could i form my own team i'd call them "Hog Wild and Pig Crazy" hehehehe

Connie we got 7th in Wings last weekend, Maybe your hubby can give me some pointers! we also took home 5th in Ribs and 2nd in Brisket.
We will be cooking in Southaven, MS in Sept, everyone is welcome to come.
