Mommy this just breaks my heart for you. I tend to be a 'worried sick mess' too but I haven't had what you and your Sailor are going through. I thought I read somewhere that if our Sailors signed some kind of release we could get the medical info and like you I would certainly want to talk to the doctor myself. I will tell you this...I CAN pray and I WILL pray that your daughter will be healed and your heart will find some peace.

Marine_navy mom--gonna be expert on texting and have phone by my side permanently!!! and your Sailor facing surgery too?...will add to my prayers.

I am disappointed in the "whiners" out there too...a different circumstances and yep still haven't gotten over the need/urge/desire to kick some serious "you know what".

@Donna-I really do appreciate your post. I am so new to all of this...I just "thought" I was getting the hang of it while my son was in BC! Each new term or abbreviation, each new situation is a learning tool. It never crossed my mind that I might be in the same 'boat' and not see my son for TWO years some where along the way in his new "Navy Life". Kind of surprising to me that all of this new information isn't as scary as I thought it would be...actually I am seeing all the new and wonderful opportunities that lay ahead for him. For a 'scaredy cat' like me....well....maybe his new "Navy Life" is going to be good for both of us. So thank you again for your post...a real 'eye opener' for me and oh btw....i'd wanna kick her tush too....geez what a cry baby!!!

Chris has his grad date set for Nov 15. He hopes to come home for a few days. He thinks C school wont happen until after the first of the year because of Christmas and all. Does anyone know anthing different?

marine_navy mom I am worried if Matt has to have surgery that I won't be able to be there and I definitely can't imagine having to deal with it with two kids. We went to A school graduation and there was a total of 4 families that showed up for the 25 graduating. It didn't last very long and was pretty informal which was nice because the person over the graduation told us to feel free to take pictures throughout and it was a small enough group that at the end we were able to get them all to pose for group pictures. The Marines all had their orders to leave the next morning so over half of the class went out to eat that night at McGuire's and we had a great time visiting with all of them and finding out where they grew up and what made them decide to join the military and to hear where they were going to next.

marine_navy mom sorry to hear about your daughter she has really been through it. Glad she is keeping a positive attitude though. Matt has been having knee pain for months now and I think he will eventually have to have surgery before it gets any better. He is paying for all of those years of playing soccer.

That is funny about the scores Donna! The F-18 is an awesome plane. We have seen it perform at air shows many times and never fails to amaze the crowd.
