Hi Ladies...My sailor said he has been working on quals so much that is he working 13 hour days, also working on his welcome packet for the base, meeting and going to the different dept but his meet and greet is almost done now...said he is working on his wings and should have them in a couple of weeks.....haven't heard, I'm bored from him yet! His new base is on the coast so he tried surfing, said it was hard but had a blast! He loves to snowboard, took him his board last weekend so he's looking forward to some snow soon.....he likes to keep busy!
Welcome SamsMySailor, welcome to our group, ask any questions you may have, the moms on here have a lot of helpful experience and knowledge. As far as Lemoore goes... my daughter was there for 5 months for C school and as you've been told, it pretty much is in the middle of nowhere. But anything is what you make it, she took some day trips to the Redwoods and Yosemite, but other than that, there's not a lot to do. I think most of her trouble with nothing to do was while she was on hold for school. Once school, or in your sons case, work starts, they are pretty busy and the boredom doesn't seem as bad.
Well, Lemoore is in the middle of the CA valley...not much there..few bigger cities are close by....does he have a car? Yosemite is a couple hours away some of the best mountains, hiking and few ski resorts, skiing after we get some snow....
Thank you for the well wishes. I have heard others say (not my son) that LeMoore is boring and most hate being there. Have you heard this? I mean, it really bothers me to hear this negative stuff about the place my son is assigned to live for the next two years. :(
Welcome aboard SamsMySailor! Congrats to your son on his A school graduation and Best of Luck to him in Lemoore.
Welcome to this group SamsMySailor......This group isn't as active as the Pcola group but the ladies here can answer your questions...:))
Hi! Just now joining this group. My son graduated A school in Pensacola on Jan 15 and is now in LeMoore, CA. He's just doing grunt work until the squadron he will be joining returns from a an inland detachment?. So it was hurry up and wait for him and a couple of other sailors that came with him. Learning new words and about how things run in the Navy everyday.
BeachBunny - What a wonderful lunch! So glad to hear things are going well for your sailor
Hope everyone has a great week!
Just got home from having a long lunch with my sailor...meet him half way from his base and home...oh, he looks good, loves his new base and is busy working thru his long quals list...had some positive feedback from his supervisor and peers...seems happy...warms a Navy moms heart...:)))
Happy Friday!
