Sherrill - Are you still with us?  Haven't heard from you in a while.  I thought about your sailor the other day when the news came out that the USS George Washington is coming to Virginia.  The ship is coming over for refueling/overhaul.  I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that my son will be on the ship when she makes the journey....I would love to see it come in.  Hope everything is going well for you and your family and hope you check in here and give us an update.

Happy Friday to everyone!!!!!

3dsmom - this group has changed a lot not quite as active as it used to be. I hope many of the ladies you know still read the posts though and see yours. Best of luck to your son as he starts a new chapter in his life and much much happiness to you. A big N4M Hug to you!

Hey Jill - how's your daughter doing these days? Hope all is going well for her

I've got good news - my sailor will be home in about 3 weeks! Haven't seen him in over a year so I'm super excited!

Hi Lisaz and welcome!  Most sailors going to Pensacola fly out sometime on Saturday.  There are a few exceptions that end up flying out on Sunday (haven't heard of anyone on Monday, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened).  They have to clear out the barracks for the new recruits coming in.  I would plan on a Saturday departure.  Our experience was that she arrived at the airport at about 4AM and her flight was not until 4PM.  We got there about 5AM and spent the whole day in the airport with her and her friends.  You can get an airport pass at the ticket counter as long as your sailor is with you.  I know some sailors flew out sooner on Saturday, but that was our experience.  I did hear of some sailors heading out to Pensacola Saturday morning at 6AM... didn't get much time with the family at all!  Again, welcome to the group, don't be afraid to ask any questions :-)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Beachbunny - you are so blessed to have such wonderful guests. Enjoy their company and know there are several moms out there who are very thankful their Sailor has somewhere to spend Christmas
