RobertsonJM - Don't worry about being OCD (chuckle chuckle) I think it comes with being a Navy mom!  You're a great mom wanting to get as informed as possible about your son's new life.  Enjoy these next couple weeks....the 4th of July will be very special this year!  BC is quite a roller coaster ride but hang in there, stick with us and we'll get you through it.  Today I'm having one of those emotionally down days.  I got a message from my Sailor this morning telling me he doesn't know when he'll be able to contact me again but that he loves me.  My son has been in Japan for the past 6 months and has called every week but now he's leaving on his first deployment.  Lots of emotions today....the roller coaster ride continues!  Oh, those two classes (ATT & AWAT) he'll take those in P'cola.

Been doing a little Google research regarding the ATT and AWAT schooling. Is it actually held in Great Lakes or in Pensacola? Believe it or not, joshmom, he doesn't even leave from Charleston, SC until July 10. I am just OCD about all this!! LOL. Spending every possible moment for the next two weeks with him. Thank you for all your great information!!  Jennifer

Happy Monday Everyone!

Cindyloohoo - Welcome!  Another AT mom how cool!!!!  First of all congratulations to you and your daughter on her graduation this Friday.  Will you be making the trip to GL for PIR?  If her orders say ATI then that is her rate.  I understand how confusing it can all be.  Hang in there it gets easier as you go along.  My son is ATI also.  Read my post to RobertsonJM  below...hopefully that will give you a little info.  My son did his C school in Biloxi (he's a Calibration Tech) but not all of them go there.  My son didn't know where he would be going until he got his orders.  As for those 120 days that would be the length of her actual A school but does not include the ATT & AWAT class or the classing up time.  Yeah, my son only thought he'd be in P'cola for 3 months too when he got his orders...was there for 6 months.  Again, welcome to the group!

Hello Group,

I'm so happy to see some activity on this group.  My SR is graduating from BC next friday and she's received her orders for A school Pensacola designated ATI.  We knew since MEPS about her designation as AT (AE) so I'm still trying to sort out the differences in the rates once narrowed down to this level.  Can anyone help?  AE, AT, ATE, ATI??  Mind blown!  Also if she has this deisgnation which I understand is approximatley 120 days, does that mean she'll continue on to C school after?  And would that be in MIssissippi?

Thanks Grandmom's, Moms, Wifes, GF's and Sailors!

Good evening ladies!

Welcome RobertsonJM!  So nice to have another AT mom join us.  Your son will go to Pensacola, FL for A school but there's really no way to determine a length of time, a lot depends on how long it takes him to class up once he gets there.  My son was in P'cola for 6 months and he waited 4 weeks to class up.  I know of some who classed up right away and yet others waited several months.  It's a hurry up and wait game!  Once he classes up he'll have to take the ATT & AWAT class first before he starts his A school.  If I remember correctly ATT was about 4 weeks long and AWAT less than 2 weeks.  Towards the end of his A school he will get orders for his permanent duty station and that will determine if and where he goes to C school.  I'm not really sure if all AT's go on to C School but it seems like most of them do. Hope this helps a little.  Is your son getting ready to graduate bootcamp soon?  Please ask away with any questions....always happy to help a fellow Navy mom out!

Sherrill - Hope you're having a great trip....anxious to see a pic!

Hope everyone has been having a great weekend!

Morning ladies and Welcome to another week!

Sherrill -   oooohhhh you're gonna be looking good driving that car to Virginia! And getting to see Sailor and family too....nice trip!  Don't suppose you'd share a pic of that Malibu before turning it over to Sailor?

lmcbwnc - If your son is AT then he'll be going to A school in Pensacola, FL  Tell him to study hard and best of luck to him.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.  We're suppose to get up into the 90's this week....just got the pool opened this weekend...looks like we might get to use it.
