Thanks for the response... I know the liberty buddy thing will be an adjustment for her. While in Pensacola she earned her way to Foxtrot barracks where they did not need a liberty buddy any longer. She was free to come and go as she pleased during liberty hours. But she does have a truck so I'm sure finding a liberty buddy to venture off base with her won't be that difficult. Her sister lives in Monterey, CA (Navy language school for hubby) and she was hoping to spend a few weekends with her since it is only a few hours away. I wonder if she will need a liberty buddy for that or if she can get a pass to go see her on her own. Oh well, I guess she'll figure it all out. She's pretty excited about her platform though and her permanent duty station in Washington... that's only 4 and a half hours from us! That will be nice once she gets there.
I have another question about C school in Lemoore. First of all, I found out that my daughter will be on hold for 2 months while waiting to class up for her C school. Has anyone else been to that command for C school and if so I was wondering what the regulations were for them. Like liberty buddies, distance they can travel, do they have to phase up like in A school? Is it as strict as C school or do they have more freedoms? Just wondering what she will be dealing with there. What about her long hold time? I guess she'll be doing lots of cleaning for two months :-) Thanks for any replies.
Hello veteran moms, I have another question for you. My daughter is graduating A school on Monday and finally got her orders. She is going to Lemoore, CA for C school and then to Washington for her permanent duty station. I'm a little confused though because in Lemoore they only have f-18 squadrons, but she is assigned to a squadron out of Whidbey Island that only has EA-6B Electronic warfare jets assigned to it. So can you learn your skill on one type of aircraft and then use it on another? Or is there a school in Lemoore that teaches you about your aircraft. Anyway, I'm just confused. Her C school is 6 months long though, is that a long time?
Connie - so glad to hear from you...I've been wondering how you're doing...hate it that you're in so much pain. Hopefully the end result will make it all worth it. Continued prayers for your healing. I checked out facebook and found your Sailor...what a great pic and WOW what a fine young son you have there! Easy to see why you're so proud of him.
MNM - Sounds like you and the hubby had a great trip...but darn getting sick. Hope you're feeling better.
Thunderstorms were bad last night....driving home from (you guessed it - a wrestling meet) hubby almost pulled over it was raining so hard...the kind where the rain is sideways because the wind is so bad. Got woke up this morning though to a wonderful birthday present - a call from Japan!!!! "Well mom you didn't think I'd forget, did you?" He made my day!
Have a wonderful day ladies!
hello girlies, i'm back...sort of. pain is unbelievable. only taking pain meds and very little of it at bedtime. therapist wants to wring my neck. he wants me to "push through the pain"....i wonder if he's ever felt like an ice pick is stabbing his knee...over and over and over?
Sailor Son is doing well. he was chosen "Avenger of the Day" on 1-11 so if you want to see my boy you can check him out on the Bush facebook page. as i was waking up from the anesthesia the Captain called our home to tell us the good news and we got to talk to him!!!
oh Sherrill, praying for the day i'll get that "re-enlistment call"!!!! Congratulations to your son!
y'all take care!
