Hello All!
MNM - Sorry to hear about daughter's' divorce. A long distance relationship is definitely a struggle. Even though it's hard to see your child go through divorce you just want them to be happy. J likes Keesler and is having a great time. Hard to believe he's about at the half way point of his schooling already. He's doing really well on his tests and he recently received his "Welcome Aboard the GW" package so he's really looking forward to heading to Japan.
Chopsmom - Congratulations on your Sailor's A school graduation and glad he's moving on so quickly. Best of Luck to him in C school.
Sherrill - Safe travels and have fun at the car rally!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Hi Jill and other moms! My son just finished his A school in P'cola and said that he would be taking a class (I assume C school) at the base where he is assigned, just as Matt's Mom said. He said that there was no wait and he would start immediately upon arrival to his new base. It's nice to finally understand what y'all are saying! It just takes time --like a new language.
Jill not sure about everyone but my son's experience was yes there was a C school after A school in Pensacola. His C school was at the base he was assigned to. He is with a squadron that is assigned to a plane that is shore based so he will never be on a ship. His wait time to start class was about a month but he also had to take two other classes before starting A school. They may tell her that she will not start classes for a month but then may get a knock on her door in the middle of the night telling her to be in class the next morning. Wish I could be specific on times for you but it varies with each group going through. The base at Pensacola is beautiful and we were able to visit several times while our son was there. The aviation museum on the base is awesome and definitely worth seeing and the lighthouse is open to visitors as well. The lighthouse has displays set up in all the rooms and you can climb to the top (all 177 steps) and enjoy the view of the base and the surrounding area.
I have a few questions about ATO's if anyone has any answers. Are ATO's assigned to squadrons not ships? Also, is there a C school that ATO's attend after A school in Pensacola? Also, anyone know the current wait time to class up at Pensacola now? My daughter says she has no idea, but is hearing that it could be months. Thanks in advance for any help!
Happy Friday Ladies!
There's some happy mommas on here - taking trips and making plans! Love it! and Grandmaw is feeling back to her ole self... YEAH!!!!
Connie - I think you should plan a girls day and you all go to the salon for pedi's & mani's!
Chopsmom - hope you find really good airfares! Never been to San Diego (no where in California) but it sounds wonderful.
MNM - how's your daughter doing these days? Glad you got to go visit, sounds like you packed a lot of fun into that trip.
Have a Great Day and a Wonderful Weekend!
Thank you, Jill! I'm very excited for him. And I've already been searching websites for cheap airfare!!
chopsmom... San Diego is beautiful! I was born and raised a southern california girl, as was my daughter. She's hoping to get stationed in San Diego working on helo's also. In her words... there's nothing like a southern california beach! He should love it.
marine_navy mom, I don't know exactly where he will be stationed around the San Diego area. I know he will be working on helos. He's pretty happy with his choice. That makes me happy! He wanted to go somewhere he had never been before and we have family in VA, so that was out. While he's on this vacation, he gets to help out his college flight team as a coach.
Good Morning my girlies!! woo hoo....new mommas here. welcome aboard!
Grandmaw is sloooowly getting back to her old self....she wants a mani, pedi and a perm!!!
