Sorry ladies I should have mentioned where he wants to go.  He put in to be a cal tech on the USS George Washington in Japan.  Getting to go overseas and be on a carrier is exactly what he wants so you can see why I'm so anxious.  He said there were 5 openings and 6 Sailors requested it; however one of the six was disqualified for overseas due to a waiver.  So things seem positive.  He called me on lunch today and said he found out that the only cal tech "C" school is in Mississippi and that's great news cause it's only 8 hours away from where we live, thus we would be making trips down there!!!!  Everything sounds too good to be true so I'm kind of a nervous wreck over this!  Here's hoping the Navy doesn't drop a bomb and change everything!  I'm much more nervous over this than he is.  I'll be keeping you updated.

Good afternoon my girlies!!

Joshmom....ok you're killing me...got my curiosity up....what's his first choice????  those classes are gosh darn lucky getting to have any say-so what so ever.  My Sailor said it is completely random on who gets to have any choice.  He got his orders before he finished A school.  and we thought 3ds' and mnm's would never get orders...we waited and waited and waited for news.

MNM - thanks and you're right about the $5 million question!  I knew there was no definite answer, more curious to how it happened with other Sailors. He did tell me that the group who got to pic are the ones graduating June 14, 21 & 28.  J is graduating on the 28th.  Got my fingers crossed he'll get what he requested but don't want to get my hopes up too soon.  The anticipation is so nerve racking!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies!
Got a call from the J man last night and he said he got to pick orders yesterday. Now I fully understand that even though he got to request his first choice of places to go that is no guarantee that he will get those orders, but I'm curious - how long now will it be before he gets his actual orders? Is the Navy going to keep me in suspense for weeks? I'm just really anxious to find out where he'll be going.

Haven't been on here in a few days  (rough weekend to get through)  I see I've missed some things.

Sherrill - Awesome pic.  They're such a cute family and the little guy looks great in the ballcap!  Congrats to you and them.

Connie - Wow that pic sure is emotional.  When you go on a mission you give 110% plus!  Way to go girl!!!!

3ds mom - Congrats to your Sailor on his advancement and to the youngest on his graduation.  My baby is starting High School this year and even though I know it will be fun and exciting I worry that these next four years will go by in a wink!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Sunday afternoon my girlies!!  in our local paper the other day this picture appeared.  it just touched my heart so and i got to wondering if this Sailor's momma had any idea that this picture was taken. i know his family would love to see it.  since it was an API photo it could have been published in any newspaper. well with a little help on facebook and a mom who's Sailor is on the same ship the Sailor in the photo was contacted and the link to this photo was sent to him in an email. i lurked around and found the couple's facebook pages and messaged the picture to the wife as well....since he's being deployed i wasn't sure that was good enough since she might well have packed up and gone home to family. i was on a MISSION!!  hehehehe  hope you enjoy this picture....aren't they adorable!
