Good morning ladies! Got back from P'cola yesterday evening. Had a great time, just couldn't get enough of those Sailor hugs! So nice to see him in person and know that he's happy. Your Memorial Day pics are wonderful! We got the priveledge of having another Sailor join us (Josh's buddy) and drove over to Mobile and toured the USS Alabama. We then treated them to a seafood dinner in Gulf Shores. We all had a wonderful time. Josh's friend was such a nice young man and very appreciative. He hasn't seen his family since he left for bootcamp 7 months ago. They were unable to make his PIR.
P'cola was beautiful except that it was gay pride week and so we seen a lot of sights we wished we wouldn't have! We found out where they were holding their rally and headed the other direction. Went para sailing for the first time and it was awesome! Also climbed the lighthouse and the view was breathtaking.

Congratulations to all your Sailors and their advancements! WooHoo!!! Sounds like you all had great weekends.

MNM - glad you had a great trip. Shame we had to come home and go back to work!

Have a great day everyone!

Connie... I agree about the meaning of Memorial Day.  This is what I did with my son (11) this weekend. He is a Sea Cadet and  Boy Scout. This is a local cemetary, we placed 2000 flags with his Boy Scout Troop and the VFW.

Good Morning my girlies!!!  what a fantastic Memorial Day weekend.  honestly i do not ever remember so much emphasis on honoring our military.....about time this holiday got turned on it's ear and the real emphasis was where it should have been all along.

an editorial in our local paper said that former Pres. Clinton was receiving a group of school children in the White House back in the 90's.  he asked the children "what does Memorial Day mean?"  they answered "the day the pool opens".

off all the pictures i have seen recognizing this Memorial Day.....the one that so touched my heart....a disabled Viet Nam in his wheelchair placing a flag on a veteran's grave.

Hey All! Happy Sunday! We had a great phone call from B today! He was in a funny mood and we laughed more than talked! He is hanging in there. He has discovered "Frisbee Golf" It sounds like a lot of fun, except when you loose your disc in a swamp!! LOL!  I love those visits! I adore his sense of humor and his laugh!

Congrats to the new E-5's! B is E-5 now as well!

Trying to get things ready for BBQ Babyback Ribs for tomorrow. Hank is such a big help both in the kitchen and with everything else right now! Home health care will start on Tuesday. Things are certainly a challenge from a wheelchair! No pie this weekend!
