Hi Moms, PIR is over and it was as fabulous as everyone said it would be! Dropped our new Sailor son off at his new home in GL yesterday afternoon and today he reports to Indoc for five days from 7 am - 5 pm. I believe they told him after two weeks he would be moving again. I suspect he was lonely last night...only had one roommate vs. 75 + !!!

Looking forward to going thru this next stage of their lives with you. Our son will be in GL for 30 weeks, he is in AE/CF program.

What is your son or daughter doing now? Where are they at for school?

Im not telling .............. LOL
Dang twidgett !
is there an in doc period for us NEW a school moms?!!!
Lucky Trae...he won't be seeing anymore snow! Nick will be there until mid November!
So does pre-BUDS and BUDS count as A School or do I have to beg to be an A School mom?
Good question Joyce, I'm wondering the same thing...Nick is in a five day in doc program this week with three watches scheduled as well. Then he moves into ATT (I think that is the 10 week basic electronics program) and then his specialized training is 20 weeks long. So do all of those earlier sessions count as A school or just the last 20 weeks?!! I just know he is busy and will be there for a LONG time!
Indoc is the start of A school Mary, every sailor does indoc for a week or two :)
Technically I dont know if the whole process is A school or if it just the last specialized training
But I have never heard of anyone saying otherwise.

And Joyce.......... I would think pre-buds is A school also, but you never know with them darn Seals :) LOL But begging wouldnt hurt, niether would flowers, candy, maybe a party thrown in our honor. you know small stuff like that !
I'm still waiting for the job offer to cook for you guys at the NFM Cafe . . .
we are still accepting applications, but someone will be in touch with you soon. Thank you for applying.........

lol...so nice to start the morning on a silly note!
I sometimes wonder when I am not being silly.......... :)
Have you been watching Carrier ? Whats you take on it
I've missed the first two nites but have it taped to watch when I can find the time. Was flying home on Sunday night and fell asleep before 9 pm last night!

Steve did watch some of it last night and said things are definitely different on a Carrier - he was on a cruiser, much smaller ship. The little bit he told me during coffee this morning, he said they just focused on two negative situations and I think the show was not what he was expecting. Maybe tonight I can stay up and catch some of it.
Well you have it taped...... so you can watch it at your liesure :)
I barely was able to keep my eyes open last night for it .....but I made it :)
