It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

What a Difference a Year Can Make . . .

Inspired by my son and the physical training he was going through (and TOTALLY disgusted with my own LACK of discipline and physical conditioning!) last May I started on the path to better health . . .

Starting with 'public' accountability, and a WHOLE lot of support in the form of the "Ship Shape Up" group, I changed the way I look at my life, throwing out the idea of 'diet' and recognizing it as a lifestyle change - instead of using food as a comfort tool and boredom buster, I focused on more… Continue

A 'Picture' Perfect Leave . . .

After the 'scare' of a cancelled flight because of the winter storms in Chicago, almost two hours on the phone with the airlines, and the blessing of a friend and fellow sailor who left O'Hare to drive back to Great Lakes to get him back to O'Hare for an earlier flight, we were LUCKY enough to have Bryan home for over 2 weeks:)!

On the day he arrived I had to work, but his dad hung the welcome home banner before picking him up at the airport . . .

If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!!! Cory left today for Haiti! He's excited. I'll be calling Southwest this weekend to find out what I can do about those airline tickets to Virginia....

Hey....glad Clifford got to the bookstore yesterday! I got a call from Cory (finally!) last night. He's back with the Seabee unit....which does not make him a happy camper. Cory has NO construction skills or knowledge, so I'm pretty sure he's a "gofer". Anyway, he said his unit might be headed out to Haiti soon. I said like "how soon"...he didn't have an actual date but said rumor has it they're going within the next few weeks. I have already bought ticketst go visit him Feb. 18th. I'm praying that if they go it will be after that. Not sure what I would do in Virginia for 4 days if he's not there!!! No actual orders yet,and we all know how runors fly, no use sweating it today.

Sounds like you're a REALLY busy lady this month. Did the Clifford costume arrive??? If not, how in the world did you entertain all of those children.....I know you came up with something, I just can't wait to hear what it was!!!

I have nothing new to tell you. Actually I'm bored....work keeps me pretty busy, but then the weekends hit. I know, right about now you'd kill for a weekend with nothing to do! Today I'm meeting Hiromi for lunch. She didn't make the last N4M lunch in Tempe so I'll be catching up with her today. I should be cleaning out a closet or two...but I just don't feel like it!!! Don't know that I'll make it back into Tucson next month. My mom is coming in for my grandsons birthday party on the 6th....and I leave for Virginia on the 18th. Might be March before I get those containers back to you! Anyway, I was thinking that the next time I drive in I'll stop at your house BEFORE I go to moms, then maybe we can do lunch or bargain shopping or something. Keep in touch and "Hi" to Bruce and Eric.

Hey Raspberry!!! Hi....gosh, would you PLEASE just move to Phoenix!?!?! Got a SHORT call from Cory last night. He's back in Virginia....nope, I don't know where he was, I didn't have time to ask! He called and said he'd just picked up Heather and they were going out...but he wanted me to know he was back and he'd call me later. Well, "later" hasn't arrived yet!!! Any word from Bryan? I did get his package out last Saturday, so hopefully he'll get it before too long. Let me know what you're up to.

Joyce,
Did you see in today's paper that Phoenix has been chosen as a host city for Navy Week? It will be March 22-29. Yahoo! I posted this on the AZ Moms page too!

Morning Raspberry! Just popping in to say hi. Nothing new, really....life has been pretty boring this week. I do have a package ready to get off to Bryan, I'll try to get it in the mail today. Not a whole lot....someone gave me one of those cheese and cracker baskets for Christmas so I just pulled it out of the container and shoved it in a box for him....oh, and found some nightquill and dayquill on sale so picked some up for him and Cory! I need you to move closer to the Phx area.....would you let Bruce know! I cleaned out the kitchen cabinets one evening and came across about 6 containers that think belong to you (from when you sent me home with salsa!), so I've put those on the side for my next trip to Tucson.....hope I remember to bring them! Have a wonder-filled weekend.....hope we can get together again soom.

WOW for Eric.....how impressive!!! Guess you're doing your "weekend stuff" today....I really hate that when I finally get a couple of days off I have more i need to accomplish that I did during the work week!!! They need to invent a house that will clean itself! Nothing new. I'll catch up with yo later.

Raspberry: You were missed at the Tempe luncheon....several of the newer moms asked if you were coming. Of course I have this over 50 brain and can't remember their names!!! Paige drove to my house from Prescott and then we drove together to Coco's so we had a little time to visit. Jeannette and Staci were there.

Cory's GF in Virginia called me today....just chatty stuff....I think she was missing him. She said if everything goes on schedule he'll be back sometime in the week of January 24th. You were right....it's a training excercise, so no big deal! I made my reservations to fly to Norfolk on Feb. 18th. I have 4 vacation days I need to use before March 1st and Southwest had tickets for $99 each way.....boy, did I luck out!
