Raberta- If you go to USPS you can order a set of 8 boxes for priority shipping. They are FREE. No cost for them to send them to you. They take about 7-10 days, but you will have them when he needs you to send him something.

Raberta - I just used plain boxes and shipped out ups.  you can go online and get quotes by weight and size of box.  Its all about the same $$. try and fit as much in one box as you can,  if you go UPS sometimes they box by size as well as weight.  They go me a couple of times that way..,

He's asked me to send some of his "civies" to A School.  Any suggestions on how to pack it?  Best rates for shipping?  Anything would be helpful.  My son wears a size 16 shoe.  That alone is one package!  LOL

Thanks marine-navymom.  I am feeling better.  It's a little weird preparing to make Thanksgiving dinner when he won't be here.  I think I'll keep it small and do it up big when he comes home in December.  Another menu request:  My crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.  Desserts:  Marble cake, strawberry cake and more banana pudding!  LOL...Have a great holiday everyone.

good day, hope all of you are having a good weekend, first I was counting down the days when she could come home but now the time has went so fast and now I have to start counting down the days that she will leave.  Oh How I miss her already.  She said I could drive her to the airport but I must say our good byes at the door.  I will do as she ask but I think this is for her benfit as well as mine.  She has never wanted to cry in front of anyone in public, so we will shed our tears is silent.

I was laid out yesterday because instead of getting a root canal, I had to have the tooth extracted.  So it was great to hear from my son last night. I'm glad they can have some civilian clothes, I think I'll pack a couple of outfits for him to wear out there.  Now I'm not sure if it was the haze of pain meds, or sleepiness but I think I promised a huge bowl of banana pudding!  He was happy to get the first package I sent with the pics from PIR.

McMom@ My Son always wanted ramen and spag o's. Home made cookies/bars are always a treat!  Tolietries are a plus! I used to go to the dollar store and stock pile on the stuff!  You can even order online and they will ship direct.
