Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Update. With one last try to go before being sent off to SEPS. I recieved a call today saying I PASSED my proan float. The joy i heard in her voice was unbelievable. Thanks again to LeAnn kept me having hope. Honestly with everyday my hope was fading. Navy is sure to test us the family and i think i need more info so that i can remain stronger in the future. Bless & Keep talking with each other..

My husband was in FIT for swim a month ago. He said that run is tested on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I know it's frustrating, but she could have passed today and went straight to BS21 and could call tomorrow. It is definitely stressful. I was supposed to leave Wednesday night before PIR, and I still went. Made it a trip with my mom. He ended up passing FIT the day before graduation, but needed to do BS21, so i just went home Saturday instead of Monday since I couldn't see him. I know it's ridiculous, but maybe it's supposed to work out like this? Holiday weekend is coming up & you'd be able to spend more time with her that weekend compared to this weekend. Idk, just trying to stay positive for ya. My husband said in FIT you're able to write every day, but most people don't because it's just depressing being in fit and all they wanna do is retest & pass. Hopefully she's able to call you soon. Hi my daughter was to graduate 8/18 she failed a physical, assuming running - her least fav. I got the call last Tuesday. They gave her 2 minutes to read a scripted statement 2 times through her sobs. The only other thing she could say was she failed her physical test, then they made her hang up. Haven't heard from her since. I called legal for past 3 days after reading it's possible she'll still be graduating 8/18 but will be in stands. I got thru to a live person I legal today and they said she would call me today. She didn't. I don't know if we should get in our flight tomorrow or not? We live in CA. What do I do? Isn't there someone who can give a parent an answer? All I need is an answer to the question of do we come or not? Why won't they give us a straight answer? Is there anyone I can call to get a definitive answer by 6am PST on 8/17? Thanks!

Hello everyone.I got a call from my daughter lastnight telling me that she had fail her swimming test (prone float) .Her PIR is August 18th.she said if I have not hear from her next Wednesday I am not to come to her graduation.I am so heart broken.I was planning on leaving next Wednesday evening.just don't know what I am to do.any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I got a mail from her this afternoon which she had written on Sunday.I want to reply to her mail but I don't know which division I should address it to.Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.Thank u.we just have to be strong for our sailors.

My husband failed his swim test and won't be graduating. He called saying he could try FIT or separate. Considering the variable factors, we decided it would be best for him to return home, wait the time out, then try to join a branch that doesn't require swimming. He did great in every thing else, he just couldn't pass the swim.
However, he called yesteady and said he was in FIT. He sounded a bit upset and short in his speech. He wasn't happy about it, so I'm wondering what may have transpired to change his decision. Does he have to go through FIT before they would separate him? If he ends up passing FIT, but not within the time needed to keep his contract, does he have to go with the new contract/program they offer or can he refuse? Would he be separated then?

Navymom, I am sorry you going thru this. I just went thru it about a month ago. My son passed his test the week after his PIR. We didn't get a call until he had passed his test A lot of people said that they call on Sunday he said he would have got to call the following weekend if he would have not passed that week. Not sure about seeing them as we live in Texas and no idea if he had any liberty over the weekend. Since yours is staying in Great Lakes he might. Mine flew out the following Tuesday. So I am not sure. He did buy a cell phone that Saturday and was texting everybody. He did have some freedom. Hope that helps some.
