Good luck to all SRs running this week!  I just visited my Sailor in Pensacola - amid the tropical storm!!!  He remembers his time at BC and RCU and FIT as character building events!  I guess it's like childbirth - once it's over, it doesn't seem so bad!

Talbert- If he does call before he runs have him also try to take a little bit bigger step each time. Even if its just an inch it will all add up.

talberts, is your son going to run tomorrow or Wednesday?

I agree. you should keep your cell phone on you. You never know when he will call with the good news.

navymom3. Any excuse for the RDC to assign more exercise is no good.

OOps on the Birthday cards.

My son's BF had her 19th birthday at Army boot camp. Her mom had everyone send her cards. She said she got extra pushups and called out all day. Anything that makes them stick out isnt good.

sandy, you gotta do what you gotta do...    Better to keep it a secret than have a RDC find out. Can you imagine they party they would get??

talberts, when your son passes his run, he wont even care about the honor guard thing. He is just going to be so happy about getting out of there. The same thing happened in my son's division to another Sailor.>  One of the Sailors in my son's division won Chief Recruit/Recruit Petty Officer? and lost it in 2 weeks. Happens very often.

I can tell that your son is going to pass soon. Hang in there.

My Sailor and about 3 others spent their 21st Birthday in Boot Camp too. They didn't want the RDCs to find out, LoL

Talberts, don't worry!!  He will pass his run. Tell your son not to stress out about not getting boot camp Honor Grad. Yes, it was a disappointment for him:  However,   when boot camp is over. That part of his life will be a distant memory. What matters most is what you do with your Navy career after boot camp. My guess is that your son knows this and is just wanting to pass his running test.

When you talk to your son just be really positive. Tell him that he will pass his run and you are waiting for the good news.

Sandy- He has been in Pensacola since Mar 18th. When he first got there he was told he would be there 18 months. Because of the wait time for classes. Once he finished his ATT class and moved to Corry his A school class started 2 weeks later. His roommate however had to wait another 6 weeks before his started. And they do the same job. He gets his paper orders tuesday so then we will know when he has to report in Japan. He said he should be able to leave right after graduation. After he does all the checkout paperwork of course.
