Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Japan was a pick for my son as well down the line, Im sure your son will enjoy Japan and maybe even you can visit them one day? Im hoping we get some time w/him least at xmas, From my understanding some of the Scools do close for holidays. One can only hope.

Nabyrocks- forgot to say he will not be on a ship as it will be shore duty. Probably have to go out on a ship to fix or install something as he is CTM.

navyrocks- My son is still in Pensacola and grads a school next friday on Sept 16th. He came home for july 4th which was just before my birthday this year. He should get to come home for 3 weeks before heading to japan. He will turn 21 the end of Nov. So this will be the first year he will be away of the holidays also. I am sure he will enjoy his time in Japan though.

navymom3 thx. Is your son on a carrier in Japan and does he like it? I hope you get to see him soon. Turning 21 is like crossing the threshold into so much more things we can worry about. My B-day was in july as well so my son and i just laugh that we owe each other.lol

talberts- Sorry that he has not had a chance to pass the run yet. Just keep giving him positive vibes since he already called this week. Remind him you know he is doing his best and that is all you expect is the best that he can do. I also told mine to push like he never thought he could push and he said he would. I am hoping that is what helped him get through it. We will send him positive vibes also.

Yes i told him it would be better once he gets to "Nuke" school, he goes to Goose Creek which is near Charleston SC. He did say he would prob go right into Battlestations. Were getting close to Thankgiving ,says he will keep saving up his leave to maybe even get to come home for Xmas. Surely we will get to see him at Goose creek way before that, Im not sure how much longer i can hold out,ha

Navynrocks- Normally once they pass the run they go to the next battlestations. Once that is done they get sent to where they are going for school. They usually don't keep them there for very long. Even though you want to see him I would wait until he is closer. I take it his school is in SC.

Thx navymom3 , He said it went well he asked abt being allowed to run more runs
but she wants him to continue to "Build"himself up to it, he made a run abt a week or so ago and apparently he "Blacked out" right after the run but he says he feels way way better. Even though he wants out of there so so bad i am greatful she hasnt pushed him back to FFFD.
So the plan is if he can make good "Trial runs while in this unit then he can be released for the pfa run.
He almost had me in tears ,he said Mom when i get out of here i will be put into holding unit and can have visitors on weekend maybe you and dad can drive up, I can tell he is sooooo homesick. It is just so so far from here but once in SC only 8 hours vs a 20 plus drive. Who knows we may do itLOL!
