Sandy my son is the CTM. He was in the fit program for 1 week until he passed the run. Normally at BC they cannot have there phone until they leave for there school. Also if there school does not start right away they still go to the a school location and get started on indoc and watch quals. Then they get put on barracks duty until class starts. The lucky ones get some of the volunteer jobs that may come available. My son would recommend doing a volunteer job if it was available as he enjoyed his.

Hi All,  whats the difference between C school and A School?  Soon as my son gets thru the RCU unit he heard that the Nuke school (A) doesnt start till about the 24th of the month so guess this means he is in the Holding Unit?   The Navy assigned his Rate for Nuke School and i hope they can change it if its not what he wants but Navy Needs come first.

At this rate i would take anything to get him on into SC which is so much closer to me then there in GL,  Were going on 4 months there b/c of the Pneumonia UGH but hope good news comes today after seeing the dr.  Fingers Crossed!

navymom, that makes sense about the E5 Sailors. Lets hope that the Navy is not putting Sailors in a Rate that they can not handle. I assume that these CTN Returnee Sailors all scored good on the ASVAB.

Sandy, my son told me that Navy schools are the best. I have a friend whose husband was in the Navy for 10 years. He was enlisted. When he transferred into the Airforce, he got automatically promoted to a Major. (of course he entered the Airforce after having lots of courses through the Navy)

Sandy, if she has managed to stick it out for 2 months I am sure she will make it. I bet they weed people out in the first month.

Sandy, I take that back what I said. My son's class was hard but your daughters course sounds really difficult for someone out of boot camp. Your daughter must be brilliant. I am guessing that she spends every waking moment studying.
