Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors. It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

my experience was that if a recruit missed a call do to duty or being SIQ they did not get to make it up....sorry!!
congrats to all the ladies who receive letters and phones
No Penny, he’s off to California on Saturday morning - he said around 9:30 a.m. That’s why we were so hoping he’d get to stay with us and since it sounds like that doesn’t happen, Friday may be our only time with him- if he can, aside from the airport.
Marchel, if your recruit is grad n go back to Great Lakes, they have to check out of their ship after graduation and then check into their new place of residence there. They say that typically takes 4-6 hours and they usually allow the recruit a phone call then he/she is ready for pick-up.
Appears that div. 058 is also now receiving letters...so it appears that div. 057 is the only one we haven't heard from thus far.
Do you think we’ll get to spend anytime with him on Friday after graduation? He seemed to think we would. He said he’d have to check out after PIR.
Found out that my daughter was on duty tonight, so she couldn't call me! Will she have to skip this call or make one up? I'm bummed!
A mom in our group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/ship11div058 posted she got a letter today!! None for me, but my mail always takes an extra day even on the sunniest of days. Went and got my Christmas cards to send to our division after work tonight. Was feeling pretty good, then came home to the Christmas tree laying on the living room floor, with ornaments all over the place thanks to the cat and dog. Trees destroyed, and that was all I had done so far for Christmas. Not sure if I should start over or just accept defeat....
