Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors. It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

Thanks KAC- my son didn’t say what the test was - when he said he got 5/5 then he moved on and I forgot to ask. Deana- it’s so awesome that you did Christmas Cards! It sounds like not all the SR’s are getting mail so I know they will be so grateful! Tell your daughter thank you so much! And I did find out my son is grad-and-go - he’ll leave Saturday morning at 9:30. That was kinda a downer... I was hoping we’d get to spend the weekend together. He said “it’s okay mom, I really am looking forward to thawing out!”. He’s going to California. Does anyone know if they will get to stay with us overnight if they are leaving so soon after graduation? He didn’t say if he’d have to stay at RTC overnight or not.
I sent a couple of the questionaires to my son~ we added a few of our own questions. I asked him on the phone today if he got them. He laughed like he really liked them and said that he had started filling them out and would finish on Sunday and mail them back to me. I can't wait to read his responses next week.
Marchel i think the big test you are talking about was there first test for the schooling they are doing. my boyfriend said last saterday when he called that they were having a test on tuesday that he had to study for =]
Answered prayers! I got a phone call this afternoon too! Was at the dentist office and now, looking back on it I’m kind of embarrassed! I think I screamed when I saw 847. My middle son told them what was up and they all clapped when I got off the phone :) He said it is sooo cold and there is sooo much snow. (He’s a Texas boy)! He said he really likes it and did very well on their first big test (?). He said he got all of our letters on Tuesday also. He said to go easy on pictures because they have to show them to the RDC and it takes away the time he has to read. We were making flyers out of our letters on the computer. He said food was good and that it was nice to be in their ship (11). Evidently they were at the Pearl Harbor for P-Days for quite a while. He said he should get to call on Christmas Day! I can’t wait for that. He got to speak to his two younger brothers and they were so happy! It was so good to hear his voice! Best Christmas gift a mom could ask for! :) May we all have a restful night of sleep! :)
ACTMom my son is in your son's division as well. He also told me how they were not coming together. I told him to help those that are struggling because they needed to be one by the time they do battlestations. I am sure our children do know each other and it was a blessing to be able to hear from him today.
I will take his cell phone when I go next month because it will be a relief to be able to talk to him. My son also said that bootcamp wasn't as hard as he thought it would be. He says he has had to do IT because of others. Hopefully they will all pull together soon. They are brothers with div 053 so lets pray they get it together because they will be in battlestation together.
They are calling home now, hopefully they will also get to call home for Christmas!
CONGRATS Ladies!!! Sounds like some of you skipped letters and got calls! I'm jealous!! :) j/k
Jill- No mail here today from Div 910. Hope our division didn't get in trouble!
I also got letter and 2 phone calls from my son today what a great day!! he sounded great! he also said problems with people not doing what they are supose to do and they are paying for it, but he said he likes everyone in his group and he even said he likes the food...he called me then called his dad and then he found out he had more time so he called me back...I feel so much better now...Hope you all got letters and calls
