Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR. This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors. It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

Golden Gator - I love how you think. Can you share (maybe even in your title) your ship/division so we can find you at PIR and also cheer on YOUR son's division as well. I would love that.
I also am waiting on something this week. I've just about worn out my SR's writing on the form letter from reading it and re-reading it...putting it in my purse, taking it out of my purse, touching it, looking at it! After all, it was written in pencil.
*Sigh* still waiting!
I have letters going out to all of the SRs in ship 11 div 54 from my 4th grade daughters class!! I'm so excited!
ACT, after a while I think we just get numb and give up. Maybe that's what I did, huh? While it is always in the back of my head, I've told myself that he's off in Europe with his old singing group somewhere and doesn't have access to reaching me. Makes it bearable.
Lynne, your comment about standing outside and yelling his name made me laugh, mainly because it would only take about 5 hours for me to drive there and that idea DID cross my mind, or stand outside and watch to see any sign of him what so ever! I'm standing in faith that I'm going to get a letter this week. Keeping that idea on my mind, I already feel much stronger today than I did at the end of the week last week.
Been waiting so long it seems, I'd be happy for puppies !
I'm crossing my fingers ladies! I hope all of you get the call and some mail today!
A new day! Maybe today will be the day. LOL...this way of thinking is going to pay off eventually!
Great pep talk, Lynne. Thanks!
This is where it gets tough ladies and you really start earning those stripes...man I remember these moments...there were times I wanted to go to Chicago and stand outside the RTC and just yell my sailors name...lol....for which they would have thrown me in the looney bin and I would have missed PIR...lol!!
Your recruits want to talk to you as much as you want to talk to them and the RDCs know it so they now have the perfect motivation in the palm of their hands. Keep those letters going...keep them upbeat and encouraging...don't lament about not hearing from them...we love our RDCs...even though it is painful we know that they are doing what they think is best....if they could only understand we would like to help them...like Pavlov's dog...give them a little treat...and they will repeat those good behaviors over and over again...lol!!
You only have 45 days left...that means for some of you..you have made it through 21 days...that is 30% of the time....wow that is great..you are almost 1/3 of the way there. Just think of all the things you have learned...about the Navy, PIR, A-school, liberty vs. leave, OPSEC....you have covered lots of ground....and they have lots of ground to cover to before that first call comes home. Hang in there...you can do it...you are Navy strong...I believe in you!!
