Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by joyceann on January 25, 2011 at 2:42pm: Momof5-I think after all we have been through this past 4 days, that if I don't laugh, I may actually pull my hair out--and I have a lot of hair! The roughest part for me was at work last night, everyone kept asking and asking, and I know that they meant well, but 2 days of disappointment had just taken it's toll. Thank goodness I am off work for 5 days now! Bring on the Meet & Greet-I need a drink-or 5!!!!

In fact, I'm guessing my call will come between 2:30 and 3:00, because I have a conference call for work! LOL...giving them the heads up right at the beginning that I may have to hang up abrubtly!

Comment by diannep on January 25, 2011 at 2:21pm: ACTmom: My son flew on Delta from GL, but don't know if they always use Delta (flew to Mississippi). This was at OHare. They also fly out of Midway. Not sure if they use Milwaukee or not. They also have charters...and when they are on a charter, sorry to say that no family can meet them there. You won't be able to see them. So pray for domestic flights! It is up to the airlines, I have been told too, to decide how many can wait at the gate.
