Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Good morning all!  I got a nice 3 hours sleep after working all night!

Gosh, I seems like I've been here before........TWICE!!!!  And the waitig begins, are we sure this isn't the movie groundhog day????

Sandy...I am incredibly tired! =)  Fell asleep with my phone in hand at 5:30am and had to be up at 6:00 to get ready for work.  It has been like this since Thurs/Fri when we were supposed to complete battlestations the first time.  Praying hard that we get those calls today!  Thank you so much for asking.  I am balancing on a fine line of hysteria and tears!

Any know what the official term for SR's will be upon graduation?  Shipmate, Seaman, etc?

As a side note...the American Airlines ticket agent in Nashville would not let us accompany J to the gate when he left for boot camp. I wrote a very long nasty note to the company and they said they will review the policy because that is not something that they normally do.

Gate passes to go to the gate with your sailor is at the discresion of the airline they are flying. Due to sept 11 rules, usually only immediate family can accompany a sailor to the gate. But if the csr at the ticket counter is being nice, they can issue more! Hope this helps!
