Hi blm, I've sent you a friend request, I'd love to hear how your daughter is doing on board the Ashland, as that's where my daughter is headed on Dec. 2. Is your daughter enjoying being there? Has she been there a while? How did she adjust? I have a million questions!
Oh I can imagine how a boyfriend complicates the feelings! We were talking with our daughter about the Navy taking part in the Philippine relief effort so it's timely to hear that your daughter is headed to that devastated country.
Hi Jeanette, thanks for asking. My daughter would much rather have stayed in the states, but I think that also has to do with the fact that her boyfriend is in A School in Connecticut. She's getting more used to the idea, though, and she's okay with it. Her ship is now headed to the Philippines for the relief efforts, so the game plan may still change.
Janai'sMom, Is your daughter excited about the Japan assignment?
Same question for you, Vickyrun, is your daughter excited about staying in VA or does she wish she were going to Spain?
We know how we fell, but I always wonder how they feel.
Hi Vickyrun, so happy for you and your daughter. Ironically, we found out last week that my daughter isn't headed for VA, but is going to Sasebo, Japan instead. She's home now for another two weeks, and then off she goes. I'm doing the "sad but proud" dance, I think it's one dance we moms know all too well!
Happy for you, Vickyrun!
I like to share good news; Chrissy got a new assignment. She will be going to a new ship and staying in VA. Instead of going to Spain. Happy dance!
My SR daughter sure enjoys snow and all you can do with it, ha. We are getting a bunch of it right now and I get to plow in the morning since hubby is gone and daughter is gone.......maybe I should be gone? A plowing I will go.
