My daughter left 8/7 and I'm still trying to get used to it. Lol her 21 birthday is Sunday and I won't even get to talk to her. Weird feeling.

No problem at all Jeanette!!  More than happy to help out.  I have two active and one veteran, plus I'm a veteran myself.  I think I've been Navy since I was born!!!  Don't hesitate to ask for help.  There is always someone somewhere on here who can help you out!!!!!  Good luck to your daughter!!!

Thank you Anna for that explanation and reassurance. This is all new to us. :)

Jeanette,

For whatever reason, when she filled out all her medical paperwork, that was probably missing, or if the dr is part of a group she may have just given the group name but not the individual name.  So then they have to call home and get the information.  She most likely was sitting in medical at the time and was handed the phone from someone's desk so they were sitting right in front of her.  For those whose rating requires a security clearance, they will also have to make some calls home to fill out paperwork for that.  Again, they will short, to the point, and over!!!!!!

Hi Moms - Our daughter arrived at BC August 19. This morning I got a quick call from her (of course we couldn't converse), just asking for the name of our gynecologist. She had forgotten the name. I gave her the name; told her I loved her; and we said good bye. Have any of you ever received such a phone call? Do they write down their hometown doctors?

Comment by Vickyrun on August 21, 2013 at 12:40pm

That is correct; they only have time in BC to write on Sundays. So if you get a one letter a week that is very good. You can write her more often tho.
